Re: Hot game deals
Original Sin is as at least as good as any of the AD&D classics, but I still have trouble getting into for the hilariously petty reason that I can't balance both being happy with my choices as a player, and representing two different character's personalities earnestly.
Re: Hot game deals
I've heard it's better with two players (though perfectly serviceable with just one). I hadn't thought about dialogue trees and plot decisions as a reason why, but now that I think about it it makes a lot of sense.
Re: Hot game deals
The Original Sin games, multiplayer, are the closest videogames have ever come to the feel of actual tabletop D&D sessions with your mates. Unfortunately, they also replicate the thing where adulthood makes consistent group timetables impossible to arrange and you never finish a damned campaign.

May the Fourth sales.
Hey, KotOR 2 for $3.39, and now it runs on Linux* and it's got that mod that turns it into a finished game.
* if you buy from Steam. GOG only has the Windows version. Oh, GOG, I want to love you, why must you make it so hard?

That may still be too much for that game.

Weird... Good game or bad, it still shows up as a $20 game for me.

I had it in my steam library from some bundle of old and gave it another go with this knowledge. It fixes a lot of game breaking bugs, but if kotor 2 dropped with all the features of the mod built in, it still wouldn't have been a finished game.

Re: Hot game deals
That's the one that adds the robot planet and the HK factory back in right?
I found the robot planet really kind of barebones and lacking. I mean it was nice to have another planet because only being to visit five planets in a Star Wars RPG always felt stupid, but it wasn't as big a deal as it was made out to be.

It doesn't add the robot planet back because they felt there wasn't enough content. There's a standalone that does I didn't use. It did add the HK factory back, but that was the worst of the companion only missions. They're all just tests if you brought enough of the best stims and shields, but the factory triggers after two other plot triggers you have no control over, so if you didn't happen to go item shopping and weapon upgrading beforehand you could lose hours of progress to restore a save (can't leave the factory once it starts).
Mainly its about fixing things like security doors not unlocking or triggers not firing, making long stretches of the game unbeatable without console commands.
Also stories seems to have stopped being free yesterday, but it's like a store-bought assassin's creed combat system used to prop up a poorly written story that thinks it's very clever.

Oh man, yeah... I remember dying once in the HK factory towards the end and being super pissed about it for exactly that reason.

Tyranny is free on Twitch Prime today and I think is good enough to cost 'installing the dumb twitch thing' if you already have prime.
