GOG summer sale's on. System Shock 2 is currently free if you download the Galaxy client.

Grandia 2's half-off. I'm tempted but, realistically, it's a game I'd download and not get around to playing. I'm kinda waiting on the Ys series, per our conversation the other day.

Humble Narrative Bundle has some pretty neat games if you're into that sort of thing. 80 Days is fun.

Went ahead and played it.

Holy shit Ichi is horrible from the word go and the whole game is only barely plausible because Nina is 19 and thus a moron.

10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in experiencing an almost unbelievably incompetent art game for exactly 1 hour

While truly incompetent things do interest me, they have to not be about 19 year old girls. That's my line. 18, 20, fine.

The game is supposed to be sympathetic to the guy, in sort of a "fuck it, we were both doofy kids and this is on balance not a bad memory" way, which would be a good thing tonally but oh my GOD that kid comes off like a fucking school shooter.

Cibele is the one game I didn't even bother installing. 80 Days has good replay value, Sorcery feels generic as fuck, ROM I've only tried a little bit of. Broken Age is supposed to be good for the first half, then fall off a cliff for the second half. People like Her Story, haven't tried it yet. Popular opinion states that Shadowrun Hong Kong is better than Returns, but worse than Dragonfall.

In addition to all the PC Ys games, today's GOG sale includes both episodes of Trails in the Sky.

The Ys bundle deal is good for two weeks. It doesn't say how long Trails will be on sale.

Well, I still can't get my Vita to connect to PSN, but I'll keep it in mind if I get it fixed.

ETA: It looks like it's only $5 less than what it costs to get a physical copy on Amazon? Maybe I'm a sucker (and Lord knows I own too much crap) but I still like objects.

Meanwhile, oh hey, Worms World Party Remastered for $5. I should get that. And then try and get some friends over sometime, dammit. I miss college.

ETA: Oh hey, the reviews all say the game crashes like a motherfucker. I should probably check whether there have been any patches in the past year before I spend money on it.

If you order $20+ of (physical, shippable) stuff from the Video Games category on Amazon in the next two weeks, you get codes for a bunch of in-game items for FFXIV.

If anyone does this, um, lemme know?

XCom Sale at the Humble Store.

If your video card can handle it, XCom 2 was everything I was hoping for, and I really recommend giving it a go.

Is the reinforcement pack worth getting?

What about Rayman Origins? It's on sale too and I've kinda had my eye on it.

Rock Paper Shotgun did a recent writeup of how the DLC's affected the main game, and they weren't entirely sure if it was objectively better with it included.

Rock Paper Shotgun wrote:‘Better’ isn’t the correct operative term, I think. ‘Different’ is, and honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted from DLC – a good reason to play through XCOM 2 again. As a total package, it’s substantial, even if not the equal of the Enemy Within expansion for XCOM 1 – though I hold out some hope that we might yet see something equivalent for XCOM 2 next year. If you’ve got the season pass but hadn’t yet gotten around to it, I’d recommend leaving the Anarchy’s Children box unticked then ploughing on into a happy new world of bright pink robots and man-size snakesuits. It’s a more diverse game now for sure – but on the other hand, if this is your first time with XCOM 2, I very strongly advise playing a campaign without the DLC to start with, or it is very likely to break your head.

Sounds like robot DLC is definitely worth it, with the boss-battle DLC more something you'd add to significantly up the challenge.

Personally, I'm waiting till some of this goes on sale to pick it up. I'm a little disappointed they haven't added any new enemies, or challenges, just weapons and allies.
