Excellent point, but man, that piece. Can't you point out a simple and revealing fact without drunkenly stumbling into weird rants about white people and LinkedIn users?

Twitter account "FIFA Corruption" claims to have predicted all the key points of today's finals. Yesterday.

Of course it turned out to be a troll/scam, but it's a fairly clever and entertaining one.

I have ceased even the tiny bit of NFL watching I once did, but this is still a hoot:

Explanation for the mystified: Manning just broke Favre's TD record. That woman is the same one that Favre had been texting pictures of his penis to.

"a non-violent version of risk" my ass

Catan played at the higher skill levels is the most friendship-ending thing possible outside of Monopoly and Mario Kart

Being killed in Risk means you're wiped out and can just leave and go do something else

Being killed in Catan means someone roadblocked you two turns in and now you're unable to win and must just sit there, knowing you can't win, for the next hour or more

To translate this to terms non-catan players can understand, imagine playing monopoly but on one of your opponents second rolls he lands on chance and pulls a card that makes it so you cannot buy property on the second half of the board for the entire game

When my friends figured out that if they rolled the robber, they could ask for bribes to not put it on people, that's when I stopped wanting to play that game with them.
のほも is such a good word?? the concept is kind of hard to fully get across in translation, but basically it means a feeling of pure, deep, platonic affection, and i think thats beautiful

I have never seen rage like the rage caused by putting a robber on someone who has two cities on the tile, robbing them of the ONE resource they didn't want you to take, and then the number the robber is covering come up next roll.

Keep in mind this series of events is fairly common in Catan.

Back in the college days, some of my friends had a Catan league that they were doing. They kept track of score between games and were adding it up. For some reason they thought this was conducive to a healthy environment, where even if you were gonna lose, you stood to gain by fucking everyone over as hard as you could.

Munchkin seems to be like it would be the odds-on favorite for the first ever death caused by hate alone.

I can't say as I've ever played a game of Munchkin where anyone got really angry or aggressive.

Worms, on the other hand...

Munchkin's worst crime is how boring it intrinsically is, necessitating the endless purchase of expansion packs in order leave any semblance of interest intact.

Deadspin's plea for the US to boycott the 2022 World Cup.

This has to be the moment where we look at a corrupt sports entity, and say, "What the fuck are we doing? We can't do this." Nothing is worth this. Nothing is worth standing by and letting Sepp Blatter—a truly revolting creature—bulldoze neighborhoods and grab asses and snort powdered gold as he sees fit.

That the Qatar World Cup will essentially be played on a giant field of human skulls, like some kind of terrifying real-life Khorne Konvention is not new, and I doubt a Deadspin editorial will change a damn thing, but this was a pretty good op ed.
