Good God that exasperated sigh at the end.

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
I'm really glad FF15 is a full-fledged open world game. I was worried that they were going to fuck up and forget to include all of the best bugs.

I really wish I got the bit earlier when they both walked in and decided to merge together for a second.

Oh jesus, that second tweet hit me with a shock I was not expecting.
This is a car full of Final Fantasy characters in an otherwise 'realistically' designed world.

I was just thinking how much I missed the old days when Final Fantasy characters would merge together.

I wonder if Sean Bean did a spittake in the recording studio for Kingsglaive when the traitor character held a ring up close to his face and mumbled to himself about people dying for such a small thing.

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
I spent so much time fucking around and not doing the next Level 18 story quest that I ended up accidentally doing a Level 35 story quest.
Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
I got through all of FFXV, playing some of the worst and best game I have ever played, then died to a final boss who I think is supposed to be easy. I need to set this thing down I think...
Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
I've spent the last 6 hours of gameplay farting around in the open world because I got to the final stretch of the game and I'm not sure what the fuck I'm supposed to do to fight the enemies without grinding or just straight up running past them. Its a real bummer because enemies past level 50 do so much damage and half of your party is made of wet noodles so you end up spending half of a fight pouring healing items on them. Everyone's at level 60 now but I really doubt that's going to do shit for me. Promto finally hit 3000 hp, so he can take two hits now.
Other than that, I've been enjoying the second half of the game, both because and despite it. It's got its hooks in me enough that I can just laugh at how fucked up the story is in this game. Most of the shit in the plot happens off-screen and you're lucky if someone says a line about anything. It's almost endearing how ramshackle everything is. If they hadn't done enough with the four boys before you left the open world segment of the game I definitely wouldn't have been on board with the second half of the game.

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
I have the opposite problem: My OCD kicked in and made me do all the available quests before moving on from Chapter 6, which as it turns out is... almost all the quests. So now I've kinda broken the experience for myself wrt the story.
"Oh no! A hot dragoon lady! What are we gonna do?" *boink* "Movin' on."
"Hey we should investigate this forest!" "Why, we've already killed and looted every inch of it." "Oh, right. Movin' on."
"Do you guys know about chocobos?" "GIRL I JUST WATCHED YOU MYSTERIOUSLY TELEPORT TO THE CHOCOBO RACETRACK AND SCHOOL ME." "..." "MOVIN' ON."

Turns out you really are supposed to run from most of stuff you see in Chapter 14. At one point it's the trigger for the next part of the quest.

I mean, come on man. It's not like it's hard to blow a diet when you can just type "Grubhub"

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
so is this the place where i can talk about how unbelievably incompetent the storytelling is in this game
a main character's backstory, which would have been a huge revelation with serious implications throughout the game, is revealed offhand in the eleventh hour literally for no better reason than to explain how he opens a (one) door, then everybody is like OH WELL YOU CANT HELP YOUR ROOTS LETS KEEP GOING
a half dozen antagonists are presented in an early cutscene and the game forgets all but two of them pretty much immediately
aranea doesn't do anything, ever. there is not one thing that happens that needs aranea to be there, except to enhance the whole "early 90s anime OAV where we condense a sprawling and convoluted manga into 90 total minutes of screentime" vibe
i have seen some shiiiiiiiiiit in my time on this planet but as i sit here i cannot think of a single work that violates chekov's gun more flagrantly and repeatedly in its run time than final fantasy xv
EDIT: but i was okay with it until chapter 14. "hey, here's a ff6 callback except you have to go to kefka's tower right away. JFYI iris is a general but we didn't make an adult model for her, lol"

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
The game assumes you watched the anime and the movie. Not kidding, there are references to both in the game, and the cutscene you're referring to leads directly into the movie. You're supposed to pause the game after that cutscene, watch the movie, then come back. It fleshes out and introduce the villians. But eh, I had already watched both because I'm a giant fucked Nerd. I mean the story is bad as fuck but with those two things added you can atleast follow it well.
Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4
Good design! Best cutscenes involve game closing. Not immersion breaking. Claims otherwise lie. FFXV is a great experience. Tremendous. You're supposed to pause the game after that cutscene, watch the movie, then come back. It fleshes out and introduce the villians.

I believe I said that it was bad as fuck.
