That is the best Mei play I have ever seen.

Keeping your opponent alive and useless. That's supervillain level work.

The thing about matchmaking in Comp is that it tells you outright when you're getting bullied, so it's pretty easy to blow up any claim that the matchmaking system wants you to win half your games when you have a long unbroken string of Underdog losses.
I'm pretty sure now that the system is set up to push casual players away from the Competitive landscape; I'm not entirely sure if that's meant to court more serious players or if it's to get most of the angry ones to self-quarantine.

Speaking of comp's matchmaking & rating being garbage, the changes for Season two have been announced. You can watch the Dev update video if you like, I guess, but here's the relevant points:
- Skill rating will be based on a scale of 1-5000.
- Skill ratings will have associated Tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, etc)
- Except for the top tiers (Master and Grandmaster), you will not fall out of a tier for a season once you reach it, even if your skill rating goes below the normal range.
- Top two tiers will also have a skill rating decay (floor is to remain in Master tier)
- End of season rewards will be tier-based
- Sandbagging is being aggressively targeted, and players will only be allowed to play with people within 500 ranks of you for Competitive, though they may widen that allowance if too many people complain
- No more sudden death. Coin toss is gone. Time bank will be the default.
- Related to the above, they will now allow ties in rare circumstances
- Minimum time in a new round on a capture map is 1 min instead of 2.
- Each point capture gives you 30 extra seconds except the first.
- Hero assemble time is greatly reduced (did not say exactly how much)

So on the PTR, everyone got new persistent sitting emotes, and most people got new laughing emotes. They're all Rare, except D.Va's sitting emote, which is Legendary, because it is absolutely fucking perfect.

So mountain dew and doritos is 100% canon now, nice.

I think I am genuinely starting to hate this game in spite of all efforts not to. I'm not there yet, but I keep taking long breaks and it's not better when I come back.

Well I guess the new season starts today? I don't have any hope of it ever being the opposite of a way to unwind though.

Re: Blizzard Presents:Pixar's Monday Night Fortress [Overwatch]
I might try more comp games under the newer system where I tried to stay away from comp in the old system because frankly every time I played it was miles worse than even QP. The new setup seems a lot better.
And with the very tight 500 level restriction, I might finally see the "Skill-based MM" Blizzard has claimed all along. Which has been my main complaint for a while now.
Whatever happens, I've soured to the point where in the past two weeks I've gotten a fucking river of gameuros and good Legendaries for characters I play (I have FOUR D.Va legendaries now @__@) and I don't even care in the least.
