Poke a Mango
Re: Poke a Mango
The local government put a ban on "digital outdoor activities" once the sun goes down because downtown was "getting crowded and local businesses weren't used to having a large demand of their services."

"Local businesses had too much business" seems like a rather... non-problem, in the large scale of things.

Terrorism happens. "Spend! Travel! Join with your neighbors in fellowship! We must not let violence slow down our economy and change our way of life for the worst!"
Pokémon happens. "Stay home. Speak with no one outside of your circle of acquaintances. We must not allow a growth in demand that would force local businesses to increase their workforce."

Niantic is rolling out a game update with a buddy pokemon system. I can't get it yet so good luck everyone.

The Halloween event is happening. Lots of spawns for Zubat, Cubone, Meowth, Drowzee, Gastly, and the evolutions for those. I can't tell if Paras is a part of it because those are everywhere anyway.
Everything that gives candy now gives double.

Not a bad event. I'm up to my eyeballs in Gengars, and was able to power through having a buddy Magikarp all the way to Gyrados. Feels good.

I still need more of both things, 'cause I was sick the whole week of the event.
Also, according to people who apparently are able to track these things, this event doubled Pokemon Go's earnings for the week.

Makes sense. Hatch eggs for double candy means people spend real money on Incubators.

Daily bonuses are implemented.
First Pokestop spin of the day nets you extra items and +500 exp
First catch of the day nets you +500 exp
Keep those up, after a solid week those bonuses quadruple.

Ah, good old MMO baithooks.
Re: Poke a Mango
Looks like the daily reset is some time in the evening Eastern, and/or it's very lenient because I have a 3 day streak after getting two first spin of the day bonuses Monday and then nothing on Tuesday.

After two years, well after everyone I know IRL stopped playing, they implemented trading and friends lists.
