It's getting a little STEAMy in here.
Get it? Because of Steam.
General Steam thread. Lately I've been playing the fuck out of the SEGA Genesis & Masterdrive Collections, mostly Ristar and Beyond Oasis. Speaking of Ristar, after twenty years, I finally beat it. And all I had to do was exploit the shit out of the save system.
Don't look at me like that. Greedy is a dick.

I recently finished To the Moon and Gone Home, because the only games I ever play to completion anymore are actually books.

Every Friday, I go to my friends' place and we play Civ V with all the expansions. We always start a new game and we usually wind up only getting about half-done before everybody's falling asleep, but it's pretty fun. Thanks, last summer's Steam sale!

So I crafted my first badge and as a result got a coupon for a game I'm not particularly interested in. Anybody want it?

I must buy all the games! But I must never play them! That would be weird.

If you take them out of the wrapper you'll ruin the collectible value!

I've bought a lot of games just because I liked the idea of them.

That is part of why I do it! I like to throw money at things I like! That's why i've been buying so many commissions lately. Getting a drawing is fun, but supporting an artist I like is even better!
Re: It's getting a little STEAMy in here.
Just bought the Stanley Parable as I'm a filthy mac user and afaik it only recently became available for the OS. It was pretty good but perhaps over-hyped a little. Haven't got every ending and probably won't. Reminded me of Raymond Queneau works like Exercises in Style but much less rigorous. Nevertheless worth a play through. Gifted Gone Home, Papers Please and Kentucky Route Zero to a friend so we could talk about them. KRZ was stunning and am impatient for the next act.

Seconding Kentucky Route Zero; I liked Gone Home. Watched a friend playing Octodad: Dadliest Catch, and while it's a great premise, I'm not sure how much I really need a complete game built around the QWOP principle.

The PC port is great. My only complaint is that the 360 d-pad is 100% too soupy to handle Metal Slug, but that's easily fixed by using the keyboard, or in my case switching to my fight stick.
Re: It's getting a little STEAMy in here.
The Witcher Enhanced and The Witcher 2 Enhanced are both free this weekend in addition to being 80% off That's $3.99 for Witcher 2 and $1.99 for Witcher 1. Witcher 1 is good, but a bit long, and the mid game drags, but it's still quite good. Witcher 2 is a fucking masterpiece with a commitment to their vision that reflects balls of fucking steel (one third of the game is mutually exclusive from another third, and both are incredible). Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't played either, but especially Witcher 2.

Valve Anti Cheat (VAC) now sends info on all of the domains you have visited to the main server
Edit: A lot of people seem convinced that the OP is wrong. Apparently it doesn't actually send any data?

It seems like they're trying to trend hashes. The problem is that it could still lead to circumstancial bans for false positives, EA-style.
