Dang. Digging the detailing on the faces, particular Sir Topham Hatt there in the middle image.

Pretty sure that was very much intentional on the part of the sculptor, since he also has a not-Indy figure.

The fun part of Cthulthu is that he is from the deep, he's covered in ichor and slime, so if you do a sloppy job ITS OKAY.

The steampunk dragon is 95% knowing how to use this wonderful Smokey Ink:
https://www.amazon.com/Vallejo-Game-Color-Smokey-Paint/dp/B000PH7NQM/Smokey ink sort of has a heavy grit suspended in it. Use in a 3:1 or 2:1 water mix to get it to flow and dirty up all the edges and corners on your model. Apply a pure dab of it and spread it around thin for a more pronounced effect. Do not wet-blend with other colors. You'll get unpredictable results.
On the wing, I had it laying flat and gravity pulled the water outward along the panel seams and the wing edge. I figured the grit pattern would be outward. Cleaned the brush and touched it gently in spots along the wing panel to make various patterns. It's really fun to experiment with. It also makes great weathering on Gundam kits and works amazing on any tank model that uses Olive Green or Desert Yellow

Nothing in a while, but I did these two guys a couple weeks ago for a funsies no-prizes painting club. The theme was Central Asia in the 20's & 30's (referred to among wargamers as "Back of Beyond" wargaming, usually Russian civil war games).
The first one turned out, purely accidentally, to be a timely tribute.

Hey guys, maybe you can help me out!
The Pulp Alley guys are getting me to do some quick rough sketches to base production miniatures on. One of them will be a not-Egg Shen!
What pose or expression do you guys think I should go with? I've got one idea already, but I'm open to suggestions.

I guess it depends on the mood/theme you want to go for with the piece.

One eye popped open, looking sideways at somebody with an expression like they're some kind of unbelievably ignorant rube.

Oh yeah, he's definitely got to have one eye open way more than the other.
