I made this horribleness back in the early 90's after I played Shadowgate.
LINK TO PLAY RPG 2
Basically it's a choose-your-own-adventure, but with a page divided into 20 squares (or 40 for 2-page levels).
Each square has a number, a picture, text description and "index". From the "index" you can "choose" an action and go to the square indicated. If there are no actions to take, you are either dead or go to the next level.
This was a "sequel" to an older one, but I decided to upload this one because it's better.
It's still mostly horrible and has many spelling and grammar errors.
Here's a sample (you start at square 1):
By the way, the image in square 12 is the view from inside your mouth while drinking water. Why? I don't know!
WOW!
Anyway I called it "play rpg" because I was a dumb kid and you can "play" it. WOW!
"Play RPG"
Re: "Play RPG"
Ha, neat. Was the Mac version of Wizardry an influence?
I always wonder why nobody ever remakes the Mac version of Wizardry. It was the best version.
I still have some graph paper with my Zelda dungeon designs on it around here somewhere.

Re: "Play RPG"
It reminds me of a stripped-down version of a CYOA book.

No, Just Shadowgate and maybe a little bit of The Goonies 2's first-person rooms.
