Are you gonna go out to build a house in the woods?

Re: Working My Wood
Well, first I'm going to build a workbench, following these instructions, except using a plywood board instead of a door, because who just has old doors lying around?
I figure I'll start small, and then work my way up to "sell all my worldly possessions and retreat from society to a cabin in the wilderness I build myself".

Ted, I don't think the idea is that people have doors just lying around. I think the idea is that a door is probably the cheapest table sized piece of quality wood you're going to be able to find. Ply wood is probably going to be a pain in the ass as far as a work bench is going to go. It's a rough surface and it's flimsy as hell, at least that frame looks like it'll give the things some stability. I mean its not going to be TERRIBLE but you'll have to be careful for slivers for basically ever.

Yeah, plywood would be a terrible work surface.
