Niku is a human.

With only a small number of responses and no sign of a frontrunner, I use my hammertime.

I was literally just typing "well, to prevent a last-minute wormpile, I'm gonna also vote for Sharkey" but having a hammertime thrown down will also help prevent that.
Niku wrote:I am now very cool with voting to test Grath. He has no reading comprehension of what i JUST SAID
You and I both know perfectly well that what you just said would have been no different if you had been assimilated.
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I'm afraid that I don't actually know perfectly well what you and the rest of the hivemind know, Grath
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
If I move my vote to Grath as well, that marks two for Grath, and two for Sharkey. Will it be one of these two we test, or will an unexpected third break away and win the test for themselves? Only the next 24 hours will tell!

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
As of the time of this post, there are roughly 12 hours remaining.
I think a good portion of our players are actually out of town at the moment. I'm not going to pause anything, though.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Okay, perhaps it is time to abandon the random voting gimmick and take a side. Out of the two candidates with multiple votes the only one who has acted remotely suspicious in my eyes isGrath.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I vote for Grath and also for not telling the Things how we're going to vote ahead of time
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Time is up.
Grath has the most votes and is tested.
The blood leaps into the air at the touch of the hot wire.
Grath is a Thing.
Night roles.

If we play our cards right, he might show up in the joke ending.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
The night's silence is broken by the inhuman sound of Grath burning alive.
11 players remain.
Newbie
Caithness
Hardly Ideal
Kazz
Kayma
Mothra
Leeham
Niku
Sharkey
fbm
Zara
1 player is remains. I've used that one before. I'm just going to cycle them from like VvW3 because nobody remembers at this point
Grath - Thing
It is now Day 3. Caithness has the wire.
Dynamite may be thrown freely today, (and all days going forward) but not if you have two or more votes on you.
48 hour timer starts now, barring hammertimes.
With 11 players alive, it now takes 6 votes to test.
11 players remain.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I am a proponent of using the wire as early in the day as possible in order to maximize information, and the next person on my list is Lee-ham. Plus I'm a little suspicious of his me-too vote on Grath that didn't make a difference because he was already going to be tested anyway. So I use the wire on LaserBeing.
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I feel almost guilty about this but I think we've got an easy human win here. We could skip a lot of shit by...
Well, it would have been easier if Caith hadn't done that.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Among 12 players, 2 were originally things. While that number is now up to 4, one of them—Grath—is now dead, and I don't think we know for sure whether Grath was an original or not. So: 3 of our 11 players are things, and at least one of them has been a thing from the beginning.
We are in our third day. Each day, we get two automatic tests: the wire test, and the vote test. While obviously the possibility of converting previously-tested players is a danger, our priority must be on locating the original things, because the more time we waste wondering about the people we've tested in days past, the more time the things get to convert people. This being the third day, we have had five tests so far, with our voting today determining the recipient of our sixth test. If we'd been able to spread our tests appropriately, we could have searched half of the potential candidates for OG thingdom. What has actually happened is that all of our testing so far has been on the same three people: twice on Niku, twice on Leeham, and the successful identification of Grath as a thing.
The first time a previously-tested player was tested again, it was when a thing held the wire, and it's how we caught him. Are the things dumb enough to try this twice? I nominate that they might be! I might be wrong, but either way, we had an opportunity to look for an original thing, and Caithness wasted that opportunity. I see a way to make up for that waste; I can demonstrate that I am not one of the original things, and if Caithness is, I'd like to prove it. If I am wrong, I'd like someone else to blow me up, and that'll be one more person exonerated from being an OG thing.
I throw my dynamite at Caithness.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I was going to say "yeah, what he said" and that we should test a unique player each night. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's fun poking a dish full of Niku's blood and watching nothing happen, but that's no way to root out surprisingly effective latex blood monsters.
In that spirit, I was going to vote for Caithness, but now there's dynamite flying through the air.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Newbie hurls his dynamite through the air.
Caithness explodes into meaty, squirming chunks.
Wait a minute.
Squirming?
Caithness was a Thing.
Upon closer inspection, he was also carrying Dynamite.
The day continues.

Man. I feel like Mothra has been keeping a super-low profile.
