Re: #Tell Friday
So, I often hit this thread when the kids ask for cat videos. Sure, we could just go to youtube, but I appreciate something more curated here.
I just never expected it to drive Kiddo 02 to create art.
They said they were inspired by "the rainbow piano cat"
...the thread is admittedly a minefield with all the spicier stuff. I'm normally good at dodging it, but 02 caught sight of one of the muscle girls flexing and was briefly intrigued.
02: "how does she do that?"
Y: "Lots of exercise." (internally) "Please be inspired to become awesome too"

I still maintain the opening riff is straight up a jrpg boss intro
raised on a steady diet of memes from this thread, how is it possible that a child would not become a meme loving fuck (musclegirl edition)
anyway here's one for when they won't go to bed

hey, take it to #tell Yoji's Kids
Re: #Tell Friday
You could do worse than raise kids on a steady diet of Star Trek jokes, strong female role models, respect for the NBA team composition rules, and other animals showing humans how to live our best life.
Placeholder for something witty that doesn't make me sound like an asshole

all these wizards who just copy the other wizards and nobody knows what the fuck anything does or why it's there but if you deviate the magic just doesn't work inexplicably

Re: #Tell Friday
Magic as programming is a pretty good meme concept, and one I enjoy, but I think my all time-favorite in-universe explanation for "Why is there magic and how does it work?" is Dungeon Meshi's, including the bit where words and symbols exist because that's just what everyone wanted.
Mind you, the two are not incompatible.

"the first magic system was easy to understand and use, clean and simple. everyone fucking hated it so now it's this impenetrable behemoth of twisted runes and unpronounceable nonsense. If you fuck up at all a demon breaks free and kills you"

I wonder if that memer knows that 'tomato' is byword for 'noob' in many competitive games (because their stats are red, which = bad), or if that's just a happy coincidence.
