How the pineapple did we end up being the nice guys?

Would we be more popular desu of we went back to mods who kickmute for no reason?

We're not the nice guys. It's just that our aggression is less passive.
...but is it art?

I will concede, however, that lately ours has also been less aggressive.

Yeah, I think only Caithness periodically posts here. fanboy and BEAT show up occasionally.

For right now at least, TT is still a fairly large community and you can avoid the more toxic elements if you're careful about where you read and post. So if you're willing to deal with the fact that the entire community is incredibly passive-aggressive and refuses to admit it then they're still a better choice for actual discussion than us because they have the userbase for actual discussions.

I expect that to change over time now that Parish has washed his hands of them, since now they'll find it harder to attract new people and the toxic elements of the community keep driving away old posters. But that's gonna take awhile.

I'm not sure I am willing to draw parallels about the life cycles of these two boards.

Because they're too different...or too similar?

Because it would be too depressing, was my guess.
