Nah you're right. I think it was the search bar that was throwing me a bit, but I imagine that would be easy to move.

Coralis it is?

Alrighty, gonna buy Coralis tomorrow, after work. Price is like 15 bucks, so I can cover that without any problem. I'll see if I can get it set up as a mobile theme first, then mess around with the colors later.

Okay, got it, started checking it out. I have Friday off from work, so I'll set it up then.

Took forever, but I managed to get all the colors changed from the Coralis default.

Only thing left is to fix the image alignment, then upload it this server from the testing zone.

If all goes well, I'll do that after work tomorrow (Monday).

Okay... switched over to Coralis. Bear with me while I try to fix all the random new problems that popped up.

So is this going to be the default on all platforms now, or can we use the old theme?

That's not a complaint (assuming avatars go back to the left), I'm just curious.

EDIT: NVM, just tried it and it reverts fine.

I don't understand why people are using themes other than K_Kitty

Yeah, trying to figure out how to move things to the left. I'm sure it's really easy but lordy bagordy they do not make it obvious.

Uh all the grey icons in the buttons will be changed once I get the time (maybe tomorrow or the day after that).

I say keep the avatars on the right. It's been on the left for like 25 years for you guys, right?

Shake things up.

i read left to right and I like knowing who's talking first. (I know the name's still there but it's really not the same.)

Current best-practice design theory is that content should go on the left and other information should go on the right. Avatars on the right makes sense from that perspective. And I can usually tell who's talking just by catching the avatar out of the corner of my eye.

That said, I think username should be above avatar, not below it.

Not that anyone should take any of my ruminations as a vote; I'm probably just going to revert back to SubSilver anyway because I am boring.

Yeah this is where I am. It's like seeing someone's face before you hear them talking.

I wonder why best practice reverses this? It seems pretty counterintuitive.

It's a question of emphasizing what's most important. The post is important; the avatar less so. (The stats accompanying the avatar less still.)

Given how static avatars are lately (I'm sorry for my part in this debacle) using av images at the most significant ID makes a kind of sense.

EDIT:
What I mean to say is that I think I like the redesign, although my old, terrible bones hate all this change.

Now I want them back on the right just to spite Lottel.

index.php and viewforum.php have horizontal scrollbars for me, at 1050 pixels wide (on Firefox, if it matters). The horizontal stretching does not appear to be caused by anything, as the only thing that's that wide are the forum and thread listings, which are full of empty space.

viewtopic.php fits correctly, however.
...but is it art?

Huh. Can you screencap it? I think I know what you're referring to, but I want to make sure.
