Yeah I was confused as fuck and was basically

but then someone messaged me of the blue to give me the #FF logs and it's a little more clear.

Even so, this is still probably the worst outcome for my making a terrible pun that I can ever recall (now also being cited as a reason to stay away from the boards?!), so I'm still seinfeldleaving.gif WRT this particular incident.

Yeah. Basically on a discord server, Dogstar saw my name in a link and went on a fucking tirade. I was pasting it all from discord into the channel and everyone was having a laugh riot at it. Dude's still got a massive chip on his shoulder from everything. The boards, CoX, everything.

When he decided to frame his interaction in this thread as Shit That Didn't Happen Poster Child, I looked at it and noticed he was lurking.

So, no, Thad, your imagined scenario did not take place. We're making fun of a 40+ year old man for not connecting the common thread of being thrown out of nearly every community he's been a part of.

Yeah after he hissed (no, really, that was his response to my name) and started screaming about how he hates Friday, Friday chimed in with massive confusion since she can't ever really remember interacting with him, at all, and someone else pointed out that hrm, maybe for some mysterious, strange reason, he dislikes women who are in proximity to him.

This all sounds like a fine example of what I'm struggling to say over in Invisible. Try not to grow up into that guy, it's sort of counterproductive.

Oh hey, aett posted and I missed it.

Aett, guess you've probably moved on again by now, but good to see you, buddy. I made it out to Romo's this year for the first time since '06 and thought of you. Heh heh. "Where's your mom at now?"

Stop by any time. Till then, see you in the Retronauts comments.

This seems like a reasonable place to ask if anyone has an archive copy of sharkey.gamespite.net

I know I don't. Internet archive probably won't because it was all gifs or something probably.

Actually I might have some really old backups of doodles and shit on discs somewhere in a cursed trunk or whatever but that'd require giving a shit. What're you looking for?

I was trying to find that JRPG plot you posted where standard teenage protagonist tropes doom the world, then found evidence of a whole bunch of Urban Vigilante characters lost to time. I hear you on the cursed trunk, I've dragged an absurdly heavy archive box of dead drives through three countries because there's definitely cool family stuff in there somewhere but realistically I'm just preserving it for the squid archaeologists to puzzle over.

If there were just some way to weaponize and target your corporation-burns-to-ground-in-slow-motion enchantment...

Holy hell that comic is old enough to drink and probably rent a car. That paper is a drawing of me my nephew did when he was like four and now he's in college and has tattoos and a wall of shitty swords.

Also I think I remember that plot. I went off about it back when kill the moon did kind of the same thing except shit.

Anyway after 2020 I think we should just scratch this session but I don't think I'm exactly keen on the rebooted universe where I'm raised by my sword obsessed post-ironic nephew.

The gamespite site would lead to the IRC channel. And there I'd meet Brentai. He would say he's holding back the most vile hentai ever. And I still wish I could not see what he posted when he finally shared. But compared to todays porn innovators, it's tame.

Out of Sharkey's comics, the one I still remember is the little old man. "When you're in the shower, I Pikachu!"

Probably a decade or more ago and a maybe a different board, there were a couple of short Castlevania stories posted, I possibly by different authors (I think they might of been written by Friday or Brentai). The search feature on the fossilized boards didn't turn them up, and the search feature on the current board says "Castlevania" is to common a search term.

The first was a scene from the last battle between Julius Belmont and Dracula before sealing him away in the eclipse, a prequal to Aria of Sorrow.

The second was based on Castlevania 2, and had Simon Belmont stopping at a peasant's home before moving on to the castle.

Like most of the fiction that gets posted to the boards, these were great. If anyone knows where they can be found, I'd appreciate them being shared, and if it is ok that I point a friend or two their way?

Simo Belmo knew.

(The only place I remember writing fiction is in the pyolimpics thread/contests. Try checking there, if you haven't already.)

These would be on "The Videogame Hero Short Story Project" from nearly exactly a decade ago, specifically mine's and one of Friday's. I only had to remember to search for "bathead". :D

For my part, I would encourage you to point at will!

A million thanks. While I'm poking around in the archives it's probably time to read your SMT LP again.

Anyone know what happened with Mharr? He stopped posting at the beginning of January but last visited a few weeks later. I sent a PM asking if things were alright, but that was too late and it's never been read.

Hope it wasn't anything we/I did, and that he and his fam are okay.
