Weird to see Detonator crossed off since I saw him just a couple months ago, but I guess he doesn't really post anymore.

Yeah, I accidentally crossed you off at first, hence your name being typed in in the edit.

I know several of these people are "still around" but my rule was if you don't post you get the axe. Det hasn't posted (to my knowledge) in quite a while.

In retrospect it was probably a good idea to stick me in the airship. That thing has ended up in pretty much every corner of the map since then.

were you still lurking here, or did someone who's your friend here tell you about the map? just curious.

It's an imposter. MMJr always used a weird capitalization to identify himself.

I take a look once or twice a year to see if the community is still here. That's about it.

Strange memories on this nervous night on Brontoforumus. Has it been nine years?

Ten?

It seems like a lifetime.

The kind of peak... that never comes again.

Worst Forums Ever in the middle/late 2000s was a very special time and place to be a part of. But no explanation, no mix of Active Games or
Pyolympics or KateStory can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and posting in that corner of time in the internet... whatever it meant.

There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could start a flame war with Thad in any thread. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were posting was shit, that we were shitposting.

And that, I think, was the handle. That sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Bush and Cheney. Not in any mean or military sense, we didn't need that. Our shitposting would simply prevail. We had all the memes. We were riding the crest... of being able to fill a 30 man wolfgame.

So now, less than ten years later, you can go over to the fossilized boards and look at the threads, and with the right kind of admin privileges...

You can almost see the downturn in members... that point, where the wolfgames stopped being filled... and Arc left.
