I like how it took six months for anyone to notice.

Yeah, you'd think if someone was having trouble registering for the boards, they'd just post about ... wait ...

Doom Response: You just listen to me vent about my PbP players when they slack R^2.

Is Doom DMing some play-by-post game?

Doomykins: Could you post in the MIA thread that I'd register if some admin would OK my registration
Doomykins: Under the truly innovative name of "Doom"

Between the now-fossilized PbP games on our old Brontoboards and the few I've played in at SA, I have concluded that the only thing more taxing than getting three to seven adults to set aside a few hours once every couple of weeks to get together and pretend to be elves or whatever... is getting three to seven adults to set aside like ten minutes a couple of times a week to do the same thing on a forum.

Heh, whoops - Bronto emails still go to my spam filter. I'll try to fix that.

btw Buge I am usually running 1-2 Play by Posts at any given time on SA's pen and paper subforum.

Both are full ATM but if you want I'll keep you in my heart when something changes.

If a SA PbP game you want to play in is full, wait approx. two weeks and you're set. Flaw in this plan: 75% of the time the guy dropping out is the DM.

I honest to god do not remember how I first found Sharkey's site, but I did in like 98/99, then lurked hard around that little network of sites (Toastyfrog, Ecchi Attack, Thor, Seanbaby) for quite awhile. Tried #FF a few times, but chat rooms were beyond my attention span by then, so when the Boards went up I joined almost immediately, and then lurked for like another year, later posting almost entirely in Sloth. I don't think I got legit involved in anything until a bunch of us started playing aRO.

EDIT: This board is so slow this was legit like the sixth thread in the list, and it was last posted in in the middle of last year. Is this necroposting? Is everything necroposting now? Are we all dead and don't know it?

I never understood the taboo behind necroposting. If there is a topic that is only recently discussion worthy again, what's the point of making a new one if there is an old one? Who gives a shit if it's 2 years old? I think it makes things simpler.

Also no seriously, this forum *is* dead. What is needed above all else is new blood and thus new life.

It's not dead, but it's hanging around on its porch grumbling about Those Darn Kids.

Honestly you are like 50% of the board's contents now.

I'm all for calling the board dead, but to what alternative? Where else are we gonna go, Talking Time?
