This community/people from here generated a few things that are now fairly ubiquitous on the net, including IWTBG, (Kayin) Eversion, (Zara) and I'm sure a few other things I'm not thinking of. This place has always been (and remains) a very strong concentration of creative people. Kazz was no exception.

I mean, shit. IWTBG spawned it's own entire fucking genre of spin-off games and imitators, which have been run at AGDQ. It's still surreal to me to have watched Kayin fuck with that one guy live when he played IWTBG Gaiden.

Oh, right, big one was the EK series. Brentai's finale of ek2 (which I basically copied wholesale for ek3) was, despite some overuse of evil fire, (which I am also guilty of) absolutely one of the best set pieces in a videogame I have played. Kazz's troll areas were amazing. Stush's amazing chipset, Newbie's fantastic level design, leeham's art, Romo's work on the music and backgrounds in ek3, the EK games are really a showcase of what this community can do when we get motivated.

I'm not saying the EK games are perfect (they're very rough in places, as a lot of us were learning how to use the editor) and certainly I look back on some of my own areas with disgust (seriously, my sense of difficulty is so amazingly warped) but they are a long way beyond any other community game, knytt or otherwise, I have ever played.

leeham's art was so good it caused a flood of new, Juni porn seeking users, for fucks sake.
