The box was too large for even my hiking backpack, so I shipped it as soon as the UPS store near the train station opened and then just show up late-ish to work (but still before any of my coworkers...)

Should be arriving Tuesday.

A box? A box! I got a box!
Image

What's in the box?
Image

A map of the Weird West!
Image

Some Johnny Quest valentines!
Image

With puzzles on the back!
Image

Underneath that ... a bunch of stuff to go through!
Image

Let's start with the plushes. A Prinny! Bearing a message!
Image

That message is ... an ad sticker for a t-shirt company.
Image

An octopus! If this is a particular octopus I am sorry I do not recognize them.
Image

Sanic!
Image

A Snorlax!
Image

Now, on to the book! First, a book of riddles!
Image

Second ... a children's adventure book?
Image

Yeah, looks like!
Image

Up next, some claptrap!
Image

From what I can tell, this is some convergence of philosophy and theoretical physics that I cannot tell what it is.
Image

And then, many comics! First, an extremely indie thing, possible college publication?
Image

Then, the Issues 0-23 and Annuals 1-2 of the New 52 printing of Animal Man! Dang!
Image

A Deadpool!
Image

Another Deadpool!
Image

And lastly, some miscellany! First, we got a McDonalds moon dude on a jetski.
Image

A Gengar!
Image

Wonder Woman!
Image

A Legend of Zelda bookmark!
Image

Ah, correction - a promotional Legend of Zelda bookmark!
Image

Aaaaand ... a League of Legends lanyard!
Image

That helpfully informs people I'm a top.
Image

Thank you: BeatBandito! This was a lot of stuff!

edit: forgot in the first posting, a CD!
Image

Checks out!

Man, all laid out that is way more stuff from Zach 2 years ago. Especially the animal man run, which was fun and should be preserved as a set. Regifting! The octopus and maybe other stuffed animal is from Ted Belmo.

The indie zine features a Jerry Orbach mask by Brandon Bird that was cut out a decade ago. I thought more dumb books made it in. Those are the best kind.

TA, you've never read the Bruce Coville "My Teacher is an Alien" saga? I remember them being really fun.

Looks like it's at least related. I don't know if I've read that particular one either.

Also the boxes may not be equal in size but they are certainly equal in joy!

Ugh, do I rush out to the fedex/kinko's and box this stuff up and pay for overnight shipping so this is there tomorrow? Or just wait until Monday when I don't have a headache and won't have to pay like probably $40 to meet a deadline?

If it's coming to me I'm already out of town until Wednesday. I'd say wait and don't stress.

So I get home thinking to myself how much it will suck now that I've finished my book at work and I don't have another one yet... when right at the front door BAM!
Image
Wait, Sharkey was participating? I didn't know that. Must have been last minute... Well let's get to it! YEAH!

Oh man. This is going to be a good box. Very good. (I didn't get a picture of it, but that's the Activision direct to TV retro game controller upside down!)
Image

Graphic novels! Of things I love dearly and thigns I've never heard of! And a campaign poster!
Image

I don't think it was intended as such, but this book (that I am definately reading first!) and the post it note made me laugh aloud.
Image

A Simon! full sized!
Image

Star Wars Micro Machines! A Moses action figure! Pirate ducks? (I'm a terrible photographer, I know)
Image

Fuck!
Image

Fuck YES! Down with pirates! Fuck them all! Time to get a Gamegun from... somewhere...
Image

Even more reading material! and GAMEPRO! (lol)
Image
But wait... the hell is that? That isn't a magazine full of shilling for ancient games...

The fuck is THIS! (besides rad as hell)
Image

Also there was a stuffed Gizmo and Gremlin that are completely adorable and a FANTASTIC mold of a tiny Godzilla and Anguirus! And another pirate duck?
Image

Tons of win in shipment 1! Thanks so much Sharkey! I am so excited for #2!

As posted earlier, about a week ago I received my box that I just confirmed was from Kuriboh and not Koipond as I originally read on the box. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, this outsider seems to understand our customs beautifully, because this box is a mix of emotions.

Image

Right away Xenosaga and Oni seem like a dead horse head. Which may seem harsh because some people might like them but not normal people. So I guess they go next to Galerians, Echo Night and E.O.E in the "shut up, high school was a different time" pile. But they're covering up Folklore, which I never played but remember the name of, which is usually not a great sign, but the internet seems to regard it warmly. Seems like a more western fantasy SMT from the box.

Taiko Drummaster will go right next to Gitaroo Man, Rez and Frequency in the "did you mention guitar hero to me? I hope you weren't planning on enjoying the rest of your night talking to other people" collection. This begins the search for a drumtroller for it.

Then there's the Autobots 2-in-1 Asus tablet. This things seems like, way too nice to just send out. I haven't messed with it more than to check the model, but it seems snappy enough that it could be the host for my experiments to get a dedicated emulation tablet. At least for SNES if not ps1. 2 kewl.

Not shown is The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes. A collection of short stories that are about 30 pages long each,by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and not whoever has kept writing these things forever since. I never really got into Sherlock Holmes outside of They Might be Giants, but 30 pages at a time is the perfect length for me to take in stories of this nature, and it is in fact not in the picture because it's already sitting next to my bed for night reading access.

I am also now learning from friends that Oni is a way more loved game than I realized. I think PS1/2/Dreamcast generation third person action games harmed me in some way and now I'm racist towards them.

Folklore is a game I have been salivating to play ever since I first heard a retrospective review, but can't find. I think you might like it actually.
