You can middle-click (or ctrl-click, or whatever local variant) if you want a link to open in a new tab.
I can't fucking do ANYTHING to PREVENT a link from opening in a new tab if it's set to do that on the server side.

Yeah, I've been middle-clicking for years and I'm 100% fine with that. If we're voting on this, it's a feature I don't need.
