Last night, the sky looked just like it does in my sig.
I went outside and sang next to a river.
The breeze was fresh and kind.

Talking to girls about porn. Transcript from a recent conversation:
Her: You know, I actually lie watching dudes fuck.
Me: Bareback?
Her: Chyeah
Me: Watching jizz trickle out their asses?
Her: Of course!
It's always fun learning things about other people.

Discovering that your treadmill automatically ends the session at the hundred minute mark, by virtue of having been on it that long.
Will know to pause early so I can record stuff, next time.

I was able to get my health card renewed despite it being two years expired. The lady told me that they normally can't do it, but she used her own discretion... not so much a small pleasure as a great relief.

or maybe he does get that and dang now i have even more admiration for superman
it's not even hard, why are the endorphins so real, gahhhhhhhhh

100% good work.
So how are you finding these posts to reply to anyway?

The tweetdeck application basically lets you set up several searches that update in (almost) real time; when someone asks a question, they can have an answer within a minute. I've got columns looking for "can't decide", "#question", "#asktwitter", "#help" and "#dilemma". "Can't decide" and "#asktwitter" are the richest veins but also have the most chaff by far; the others are slower going and seem to be mostly bots or promotional/business stuff for some reason, but they still have the occasional gem.
I invite people to ask me directly but that happened like three times ever. Maybe I should start a tumblr or something.
The whole thing's a weird sort of convenience, I can easily do it while I practice drawing or play games on my 3DS or Wii U gamepad. Sort of adds value to my leisure time I suppose.

That's a pretty interesting gig you've got going. Just remember, with great power etc. etc.

Yeah, I know. I've set up a bunch of rules for myself, I'm taking this seriously. There's always the safety net of "well why did you listen to some random jackass on twitter" but I'd genuinely prefer if it never came to that. For example, I never say anything in the medical realm without also saying "ask a doctor/dentist". (There was that girl worried she had overdosed on a particular painkiller, I told her "even without obvious symptoms, liver damage may already be occuring, see a doctor right away", and she said "nah i feel alright I'm probably fine". At some point you gotta wash your hands of idiots, it's not like I can force her to go to the hospital.) Also, I don't deal in sex stuff, beyond telling people that they should never force themselves or let themselves be forced to do anything they don't want to do in that domain, and that openness and honesty are the most important things.
And I don't give out legal advice of course. Well, one dude once asked for advice because he had texted while driving and he was going to court for it, and I figured "the man's asking on twitter, he just needs the real baseline stuff" so I told him to dress nice and be polite because the last thing he wants is for the judge to dislike him. Then he asked "I'm in the Royal Navy, should I wear my uniform?" Which gave me an opportunity to exercize my "if I don't know, I don't make shit up" rule. I mean, I could see it ending in one of two ways: either the judge thinks more highly of him for being in the military, or he thinks "look at this jackass bringing shame to our fighting men, he thinks he can get away with crime because he's in uniform, I'll crush him like a bug". So I told him I had no idea and suggested he ask a superior.
Deep down, most people already know what's good for them; what they really need from a stranger on twitter (if they need anything at all) is a bit of self-confidence, encouragement to do the right thing, or occasional hard fact. In some cases I'm practically a google proxy, but I think sometimes folk just want to get the info from a live human being, and it gets me to learn a thing or two myself.

You know what the nice thing is about feeling like fresh hell for weeks? Once you finally start to feel better, you fucking notice.
I'm still not back up to 100% but I'm at least feeling like I can perform basic tasks again. Yesterday I finally scheduled that allergist appointment I've been needing (and I'm still feeling okay on my first day with no antihistamines, though that's likely to get worse the longer I go). Today I did 5 loads of laundry (white linen, colored linen, electric blanket, pants and underwear, white shirts and socks, which still leaves colored shirts for tomorrow but still gets through a whole lot of laundry), a load of dishes, worked out on the elliptical (it's been a little while so I decided to start slow and just do a half-hour TV show's worth instead of the hour show I usually do), and walked the dog (which was similarly truncated; I managed to convince her to go to the park but she only felt like staying there for about five minutes before she turned around and led me home). And talked to a couple of people about a job.
Allergies and asthma are still bothering me a bit, and after the allergist I should probably schedule an appointment with a dermatologist, because my face has been breaking out like crazy. Like, when-I-was-a-teenager or the-last-time-I-grew-a-beard bad. And I can't think of anything that's changed that would have brought it on.
So, y'know, it's not like everything's coming up roses. But I definitely feel like I'm on an upswing. In that I'm actually feeling good enough to do basic day-to-day shit again.
