Er, no, haha. I've been trying to get the French ones.

Chopped artwork is probably better than never reading it at all.

The new IDW/Euro Comics editions purport to be "presented in the original oversized B&W format with new translations made from Pratt’s original Italian scripts." Downside is that they only seem to have the first book (of 12) out so far; the second is due out in July.

That said, two books a year is a pretty good clip, and if they can keep it up it might be worth waiting.

Turns out I never posted the final lineart/interior illustrations.

They're up on the site now, but here they are anyway:

Just gonna breeze in here two months late and say these pictures as rad, Mongrel.

Haha, I actually didn't like that one as much. I don't mind classic tropes and have fun with them, even the awful old stereotypes, but Fu Manchu has to be one of the most hilariously racist tropes of that era. As a drawing it turned out fine.

New roughs for the new book, this one's Egyptian pulp adventure stuff. Pharoahs and tombs and crazy cults and curses and mummies and shifty characters and professors and all that.

I used more photo references for these (mainly pics of myself, well, for all the men after the first anyway). I feel like these might be too realistic and not actually cartoony enough, but eh.

Apart from some very minor corrections I noticed I need to make, these will probably be the final versions (I was able to break the dimensional restrictions on a couple and that helped those two images a lot).

I can't tell if that first portrait looks exactly like a real person I've seen, or is just a perfect representation of what Sam Eagle would look like as a human.

Wow, nice work Mongrel.

I like Monkey Girl and KNIFEMASK DUDE a lot, particularly.

I don't think that's actually Hardly's work. I think he's just using it as a response gif.

Put your stuff up anyway! I never draw anymore unless someone's got a gun or money to my head... better to liven this up with more work!

Yeah, that was just a panel from Homestuck that seemed apt.

I've been trying to do some more digital painting. My drawings have never been that great, and I'm seeing lots of talented folks and thinking "wait, can I do that? Some of these people seem to only be using a lasso tool sometimes." I can definitely trace stuff, but I wonder how much I can generate from scratch.

Turns out... well... hm.

The vehicle comes from a SketchUp model I made, and the background elements were traced from Google images. It was originally going to be a lot more drab, but my wife and I have been into Erin Hanson these days.

Still lots to do, and I'm not 100% on how to do any of it. It needs to be covered in dust and ice, like it just drove across 500km of icebergs and glaciers. I plan to add at least one person in silhouette against the headlights, maybe another next to the tires for scale (This thing is supposed be huge). And it's looking plain overall, but I'm trying not to overdo any greebles; large vehicles like cargo ships look kinda plain from a distance, anyway.

I've always wanted to do a paperchild that wasn't kind of creepy.

Let's see... go on about how shitty the holidays are going to make me feel? Or spam Armored Core drawings?

Kind of related: Does anyone know a way to make a YouTube link play at a different speed? Kind of like how you can do with linking a video at a specific time with &t=(number)s?

It's not doable with a url. But while confirming that it's a client-side setting I learned that you can control it in an embedded playback if you can play with the html.

Code: Select all

player.setPlaybackRate(X);

That's the line you want, X is .25 - 2
