Re: Hot game deals
LOL, two days after I bought two copies of Undertale for full price.
Oh well, who cares. $4 and frankly he probably deserves every penny. Just need to get on playing it!
My brother also bought me Korra since he saw it on my wishlist. Oops. (That's fine, I wanted it, but it goes on sale for 75% off now!)

Re: Hot game deals
how to cause human beings untold anguish:
1. rip out their fingernails
2. murder their children in front of them, slowly, with knives, while they scream tearfully for their parent
3. sell them something, then reduce the price by an inconsequential amount the next day

Re: Hot game deals
Hmmmmm guess my earlier failure turned into a further $10 savings!
What about The Bureau? How's that as a game?

Re: Hot game deals
If anybody wanted to try FFXIV, it's part of the current Humble Bundle at the $5 price point. Since it's a new account, I'd assume you'll get your free month, too.

Re: Hot game deals
Description says it straight out, yeah. So it's basically 5-9 bucks for a month of FF14 and, I dunno, Gyromancer. I'm in the category of "I already bought and didn't play most of these games already, damn it."
(I'll buy it in a heartbeat if they add the Gyromancer OST though.)

Uh! People were enraged when it was announced for a similar reason as we are now for the new Valkyria Chronicles farce, but then they made a proper XCom in the meantime, and everyone in Earth crased to give a fraction of a damn.

It came out to little or no fanfare, and the consensus from people I know who've played it is that it is pretty good, nothing special, plot is okay until it gets crazy but in a good way.
Re: Hot game deals
GOG's about to lose the rights to the Duke Nukem series, so the games are deeply discounted; you can get DN3D by itself for $1.50 or, for another buck, also get the original side-scrolling DN games, Balls of Steel, and Manhattan Project.
Re: Hot game deals
Humble Sale's on.
We're pretty much at a point now where there's never not a big sale at one of the major game download sites.

Latest Humble Bundle has XCOM: Enemy Unknown at the bottom tier.

Re: Hot game deals
Ohey, ARK is the pot-sweetener for Humble Monthly this month. I'll probably end up biting on that since I found it to be surprisingly entertaining over the last free weekend (on the right servers), though I'll wait and see if they toss any more discount coupons into the regular bundles this month.
Re: Hot game deals
The 2DS is getting a permanent price drop to $80.
It really is a sweet little machine, and I like mine quite a lot. I mostly don't care about the missing 3D (though I've died enough times misjudging depth in Super Mario 3D Land that I can see there are games where it probably helps). I'm disappointed I can't run SNES VC games on it, but aside from that none of the new-model-only 3DS games have struck me as must-haves.

Yeah, I love my 2DS. I'm not interested in the 3DS systems cause they hurt my hands, but 2DS has this awesome little thing: http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/ac ... ips/113622
I swear by it, even if it makes it hard to carry around a bit.

Ep 1 of King's Quest is free if you really want to play Back to the Princess Bride.

Humble Store's got a pretty good sale on. I got Mega Man Legacy Collection for $10 (some weirdness with graphics settings; framerate a little jumpy) and Transformers: Devastation for $25 (pretty fun so far, good to have the band back together, Bumblebee should definitely not be able to juggle Megatron like that).

Re: Hot game deals
Connect your Steam account to GOG, get DRM-Free/GOG Galaxy version of some of your library. Granted most of these are probably already in your Humble library somewhere too but hey, all the licenses.
