Mothra May Cry III: Rebirth of Mothra

Postby Mothra » Tue Jan 05, 2016 1:16 pm

Mothra May Cry I
Mothra May Cry II

It's time.

Pick something for for me to LP, and I'll suffer through it like a champ.

Anything I can emulate on my computer should be fine. Oldish PC games are A-OK as well.

In other news, I can LP books, episodes of TV shows and abstract whatsits as well

If it's a show, I'm going to start uploading it to Daily Motion, since Youtube's getting better about copyright-tagging stuff. I'll put the Home Improvement LP's from previous MMC's up there as well. If you run AdBlock, it's basically the same as YT.

Previous atrocities from Mothra May Cries past:
Let's Play Smurfs - Rescue in Gargamel's Castle
Let's Play Japanese Star Wars (NES)
Let's Play Graffiti Kingdom Hammered

Previous from Frocto May Cry:
Let's Play Pokeman Snap - Ice Cave, Part 1
Let's Play Pokemon Snap - Ice Cave, Part 2

I'd totally be up for this if it didn't mean that I'd have to buy Hatred

You could take over some of the terrible things people have asked me to LP. Seventh Saga is a bafflingly common suggestion, so maybe start there?

Hmmm. I've sent a lot of weird stuff to Kazz and Frocto already, but let's see....

Whirlo - SNES
Weird Dreams - PC
Lester the Unlikely - SNES

I think it's because the game is so user unfriendly, stark, and hard as fuck, in a very grindy, unfair way.

But it's not completely inaccessible like Heroes of the Lance or Drakkhen or whatever.

I mean, I love 7th Saga, but I am a crazy person. Do not play the game unless you wish to suffer.

My serious suggestion for a game that will make you suffer the correct amount is Spelunky.

Welp, because Camtasia is terrible, this only recorded successfully for the first couple minutes, then it became a mass of screaming and glitches:

I'm going to re-record the post-cotton-candy pit segment soon.

Game sound probably needs to be slightly lower.

PJ (of "the best runs during GDQ" fame) has been doing practice runs of 7th Saga since Sunday to get back to speedrunning it. I'm not sure 7th Saga would be a good thing to subject Mothra to because it's just brutal amounts of grinding - it's like 2-3 hours worth of progression, and at least 6 hours (if you're PJ and played the hell out of this game as a kid and practice speedruns, for normal humans I expect it'd be even longer) of grinding, unless you play the robot and abuse a glitch that lets you quickly max out all your stats.

(Side note: Today's run starting in probably three hours from this comment being posted at http://www.twitch.tv/pjdicesare is going to be the most brutal, since he's playing Kamil - Jack of all trades, terrible at all of them.)
