A lie to keep more gullible children from shanking the ones that really need to be shanked.
Re: Election 2016
Yeaaaaaah, if that starts being abused I'm sure there will be found a way to block those 'unblockable' messages. Even if it doesn't exist currently.
Re: Election 2016
Presumably Trump will pardon him because Trump no longer cares about people mishandling classified information.

So back to Tom Price for heath. Turns out he keeps company with these guys: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associati ... d_Surgeons
Notable positions include (but are certainly not limited to):
- Medicare and Medicaid are evil, and members are required to sign a declaration promising not to work with them (or even private insurance companies)
- Obama won in 2008 by literally hypnotizing the weak-minded ([implied views on race/class/gender])
- Their "journal" sounds like the publishing arm of Infowars
OH GOODY.

Mrs. Ideal and I are watching some show about a supposed ninth planet in the most distant reaches of the solar system; orbits of some Kuiper Belt objects suggest something brobdingnagian is about 100 billion miles from the sun.
But that doesn't have to do with the point I'm getting to. At one point, they mentioned Pluto and how it was demoted/ killed/ reclassified/ skullfucked. We're not brobdingnagian on the speculation stuff, so we talked about how stupid the drama over Pluto was. Like, people were- and still are- upset over the scientific classification of a distant ball of rock. Like, passionately so. I can bring up the subject on Facebook and members of my own family will admit they don't care about solar orbits, hydrostatic stability, or gravitational dominance; all that seems to matter is that NUH UH PLUTO IS TOO A PLANET because that's what they remember from grade school.
Looking back, I wonder if we should've taken it as a warning sign, when feelings trump empirical characteristics. It was easy at the time to, say, classify whales by which was my favorite instead of anatomical features. But after The Bastard was elected in spite of all his demonstrable faults... I dunno. Just... goddamn, right?

If you're saying "a significant percentage of the population does not care about facts and instead defer to their personal feelings on any/all matters" then yes, you're absolutely right.
I saw a clip of Gingrich arguing with a blonde lady about this specific thing in regards to crime rates, and long story short, while the clip made him look like a retard, he's not wrong. She kept saying "crime is down" and he kept saying "but people feel unsafe and I'll campaign on that".
Appeal to emotion may be a fallacy, but it is, and always will be, a very effective fallacy. Maybe the most effective fallacy. In fact, it's arguable and even probable that's it's more effective than factual truths in terms of getting people to come to your viewpoint.

And if you disagree with that last point, here is a picture of a sad cat, a sad starving child, and a Mexican raping a sad cat and a sad starving child.

Pluto will always be a planet >:3
Re: Election 2016
Just as Trump will always be the American president once elections get henceforth postponed indefinitely!

I propose we compromise and reclassify it as a Dwarf Pluto.
Also: The Bastard's own supporters are already starting to regret their votes for him.
