I got assimilated and didn't notice? I was wondering why my eye started itching all of a sudden... wait, wrong mythos.

My dice roll was to assimilate you (we had it down to you, Laserbeing, or Niku being the last flamethrower) but we got Laserbeing for the win instead.

I remember that episode!
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
My twin frustrations are a.) not using my hammertime before work on the day that ended with a thing getting test-revealed but there being no further time to do anything so I couldn't throw my dynamite and b.) not getting turned into a thing so i could throw my dynamite
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Not just throwing my dynamite at Leeham instead of voting for him.
Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I think the hunams erred too much on the side of restraint, myself included. If we'd actually coordinated and maybe even colluded a bit... ah, well. Anyway, GG, would play again and I'll try not to be hopping trains and shit next time. Sorry your planet is overrun with things or whatever.
But srsly we should hammer out rules for spacetrek thingwolf.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
I had an idea that takes place sort of in space, but I don't really know dick about Star Trek, seems like loons blathering in code and getting repeatedly mind-controlled.
My contribution was to say almost nothing until I had no choice. I didn't expect to survive after getting a single speck of suspicion; I just wanted to be last in the OT hunt.
As for voting, I pretty much followed Grath's plan. If I'd remembered that Newbie had tossed his dynamite, I would have voted to turn someone else, though.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)
Not to change the subject from woulda coulda shoulda, but I never actually saw much of The Thing outside of screengrabs.
It's actually kind of horrifying! Even the 1982 latex wiggle monster version! Which is kind of weird since I liked Dead Space, but I guess there's a big difference between turning body horrors into lunch meat vs just watching people's body parts turn into jaws.
