"I can't wait to eat this . . . baby" has somehow actually become my most quoted line from anything in my day to day life.
It just works in so many contexts!

So, it's been a year since we decided a lying, cheating asshole was the one we wanted running things.
What were you doing that night? Speaking for myself, but...

Seriously, I was trembling in shock. The last time that happened was when I learned my aunt was murdered.

Jeet Heer has a pretty good piece about how anti-Trump media is actually starting to trap themselves into the fake-news narrative, reflexively jumping on non-gaffes for cheap non-gotchas which actually undermine any real efforts to criticize Trump.
Amazingly it also contains maybe the first thing Trump has ever said that I can agree with without qualification, in a speech about North Korea:
(Of course we can take consolation in the fact that it's pretty damned obvious Trump did not come up with this himself, much less write it).
There's also a link to an AV article to by Sean O'Neal with a list of REAL gaffes by Trump, some of which hadn't received much coverage if at all. This one actually made my eyes bug out:
The article also has this wonderful quote from O'Neal, which I'm sure Mothra in particular will appreciate:
Amazingly it also contains maybe the first thing Trump has ever said that I can agree with without qualification, in a speech about North Korea:
Far from valuing its people as equal citizens, this cruel dictatorship measures them, scores them, and ranks them based on the most arbitrary indications of their allegiance to the state. Those who score the highest in loyalty may live in the capital city. Those who score the lowest starve. A small infraction by one citizen, such as accidentally staining a picture of the tyrant printed in a discarded newspaper, can wreck the social credit rank of his entire family for many decades. An estimated 100,000 North Koreans suffer in gulags, toiling in forced labor, and enduring torture, starvation, rape, and murder on a constant basis. In one known instance, a nine-year-old boy was imprisoned for ten years because his grandfather was accused of treason. In another, a student was beaten in school for forgetting a single detail about the life of Kim Jong-un....
And so, on this peninsula, we have watched the results of a tragic experiment in a laboratory of history. It is a tale of one people, but two Koreas. One Korea in which the people took control of their lives and their country and chose a future of freedom and justice, of civilization and incredible achievement, and another Korea in which leaders imprison their people under the banner of tyranny, fascism, and oppression.
(Of course we can take consolation in the fact that it's pretty damned obvious Trump did not come up with this himself, much less write it).

There will be plenty of petty non-stories the media can seize on to portray Trump as the kaiju manifestation of every ugly American stereotype, providing us with the hollow laughs that will briefly quell our omnipresent dread that he’s just going to start riffing at some state dinner and kick off nuclear war
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
On the one hand, Trump supporters would be pulling the "fake news!" narrative even if the news media were 100% honest and accurate 100% of the time.
On the other, they need to stop doing this fucking bullshit anyway. Take the time to get a story right; if that means somebody else breaks it first, accept that as the cost of doing business. And that's before we get into the stuff that's not merely sloppy but actually deceptive, like the editing on the goddamn koi video. What, you don't have enough real, important shit to go after Trump for, so you have to make up some petty, fake shit? JFC.

I'm not sure what it is with Don Jr., where neither he nor his minders can stop him from tweeting out proof of his treasons as if they were a defence of said treasons.

A friend did comment that "It was the eagle that taught him to respect birds".

No wonder he wanted to destroy their natural habitats.
