Wow.
Well, I mean, the crazy old hermit wasn't going to live forever, but that's an end of an era for sure.
I wonder if we'll ever get much in the way of answers about all the mysteries he never answered while alive.

Well, hell.
Snyder's Kickstarter updates have indicated there are a few more issues of new material ready to go, so we can expect at least a few more Kickstarters' worth of new Ditko comics. Plus plenty of out-of-print stuff that he's expressed an interest in reprinting.
Not much more to add right now. Ditko was one-of-a-kind. I loved his work, even at its most esoteric, impenetrable, and Randian. I'm glad that his presence on Kickstarter over the past few years helped broaden his audience. There are a lot of comics and essays I would love to see back in print.

Not a surprise... she was in rough shape the last couple days.
If there's any word to use here, it's 'Respect'.

That scene is particularly poignant, since her husband in that movie is played by Matt "Guitar" Murphy, who died in June.

One of the greatest artists in American history. "Respect" would be the word even if it weren't the title of her most famous song.

If there's a silver lining to this, it's that (1) he left Senate Republicans down a vote in the Senate for the last eight months and (2) we're six weeks out from a tossup election and that might put some pressure on Ducey to go with a moderate.
The Arizona Republic has a list of potential replacements, though it appears to be rampant speculation and not based on anything Ducey himself has said or indicated. Cindy McCain would be the least controversial choice and the least likely to hurt Ducey's chance of reelection, so I think there's a good chance it'll be her if she's willing to accept it.
Though if we're to assume that Republicans are gonna Republican and choose the worst possible person, then expect it to be Matt Salmon.
(Actually, the worst possible person is, as always, Joe Arpaio. But whatever Ducey's faults, I think it's pretty unlikely he'd go with him.
I'll give McCain one thing: he fucking hated Sheriff Joe. Stuck clocks and all that.)
Regardless, McCain should have resigned and let the voters choose a replacement. I felt the same way about Ted Kennedy.

Re: Obituaries
"John McCain: Not the worst Republican" seems like a fitting epitaph.
Re: Obituaries
Neil Simon. And now nobody's going to be talking about it.
