Here's the rules:

1. Anime only, this isn't top ten fictional
2. By "Anime" I don't mean has to be from an anime, it could be a game or a manga, but it has to be anime style, or at least sprites
3. There's going to be an exception or two because this is my list deal with it
4. I'll list ten of each, so ten girls and ten guys
5. feel free to comment telling me my waifus are shit
6. you can also praise my good taste but this is discouraged by the greater anime community

10. Celes Chere



I'll be honest, in terms of early FF girls, I like Rydia visually more, but Celes has the better character, personality and development. Oh yeah if you were expecting top ten HOTTEST that's not this thread, this is about marriage.

Also Amano design 4ever fuck you Romo.

Celes is a great and well-executed example of a "melting ice queen" without losing her badass-ness. She is, in my opinion, the mainest character FF6 offers, and starting with her in the World of Ruin really gives her a chance to shine. Her despair at losing Cid and then regaining hope because a bird threw up in her mouth is one of the best moments in video games.

She also sings in an Opera that I guess was ripped off from Undertale, whatever

10. Jet Black



What, not Spike?

Spike's great but there's just something about Jet's gravely, heart of gold older man. Spike is dangerous and lethal and unstable. Jet knows how to treat a lady, you know?

Jet's starring episode, on board the prison ship where the convicts have taken over, is one of my favorite (if not my actual favorite) episodes in the series. There's just something about his persona that I find very attractive.

I was going to say I managed to avoid having my first Husbando not be a cowboy but he's from Cowboy Bebop so I guess not.

Anyway, Jet's the type to play it tough but under that hard as nails exterior there lies a big ol' softy. Ein knows it and that's why they got on so well.

I know picking Jet screams Daddy issues and I just don't care. Sometimes you just want someone who has his shit together. I don't want Jet to take care of me, per se, but I wouldn't mind it. I just want him to sit with me on my bed and talk about old times and smoke a cigarette. Maybe hold my hand and laugh at a bad joke and cough. Uh.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I find him very ideal for companionship. He's not the greatest looking but who gives a shit. He's tough and caring and smart and he'll always be there for you. And I mean come on, robot arm.

9. Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh)

9. Kanji Tatsumi

Kanji may or may not be "gay" in the traditional sense of the word, and that's fine. He's exploring his sexuality in a really well written arc. It would have been very easy to write him poorly but whoever wrote him did a great job. It's just a shame I have to steal his beloved away from him.

Oh well.

For those of you who haven't played Persona 4, Kanji is a troubled youth who overcompensates for his less traditional manly traits (like loving to knit) by being a fucking one-man biker gang IN YOUR AREA. As the game goes on, he learns that who you really are is more important than what society expects from you, culminating in him un-bleaching his hair and becoming 10 times less attractive I'm sorry we're getting a divorce unless you start being a bad boy again goodbye

8. Chie Satonaka



TWO P4 CHARACTERS IN A ROW?

I'm sorry. It was a fsteak.

Chie is the best tomboy around. She will kick your ass and then eat an entire cow and then dominate Yukiko. In bed. With a banana. Head.

Listen Chie is great and cute and tough and surprisingly vulnerable. YES TOUGH CHARACTER ACTUALLY SWEET/KIND/CUTE is my, and a lot of other people's, thing. Chie is seriously great and well written though. She's also a great friend-only should you choose to go down that route with her. Her idea of a good time is beating up bullies and watching old kung-fu movies. What else could you ask of a girl? (Besides elf ears, a metal bikini, and the ability to turn into a plane, I mean.)

8. Alucard/Arikado/Adrian Tepes



Believe it or not, I don't usually go for girly vampire boys with open shirts. Alucard is the exception.

He's just so graceful and gothic. He's like king prettyboy vampire, at least in my heart (even if Vampire Hunter D is canonically).

Also, Arikado flavor Alucard is just as good if not better, so there's that. OKAY ITS BETTER MARS I ADMIT IT

A bit of an odd choice, perhaps, I know. I like Kyon because he's human and flawed, quick to become irritated, and kind of shitty a lot of the time.

But in the end he really does try to help people (well, his friends at least) and probably earns his harem's love more than any other harem anime MC I've seen. He's also easy on the eyes, for an anime high school boy.

however, ten points have been deducted for not doing your fucking homework.

None of you know who this is, and those of you who do, do you mind if I ask you the time?

"Female lead of monstergirl porn game with better writing, personality, and character arc than most fiction" is probably enough to describe Alice to those of you who don't share in my taste of more... exotic women. I actually sort of like a different female lead in the same game more, but in the end I wouldn't want to marry Granberia because come on I don't enjoy swordfighting THAT MUCH CAN WE JUST HAVE REGULAR SEX ONCE IN A WHILE

Oh Leon, you big lovable goof. God I love you so much. And your hair is amazing.

Leon isn't a cowboy and thank god because I would have devoted my life to making him real and unleashed some sort of sex robot apocalypse on the world, destroying us all.

But that's basically his only flaw, so. Even the bad puns are a plus.

If I was Ashley I would have not taken no for an answer, I'll tell you that. I would have pinned Leon right to that jet ski and made him go through a series of complicated quick time events resulting in an instant game over until he said yes.

Rachnee is my guilty pleasure in my top ten girls in that she's not really much of a character and more of a pin up model for my fetishes. She's got a character and an arc but it's far, far in the background to the ecchi shit that is always in the forefront of the manga/anime. Basically she's a cold bitch who enjoys bondage play (spider, remember) and hates everyone until the MC tells her that his favorite thing about girls are their legs.

Rachnee is the sadistic top to end all tops but as usual her appeal to me is because she's got a cute side and blushes whenever the MC is nice to her. What can I say, I'm a sucker.

4. Naoto Shirogane



Another Persona 4 character what is the world coming to

Naoto is a woman trapped in a man's world. She, Shakespeare in mind, disguises herself as a man in order to pursue the life she wants for herself. She's not even sure she's a woman because she's never really felt like what society expects a woman to be. She's the female version of Kanji's arc and it's not by accident that Kanji is into her, even when he thinks Naoto is a boy.

Naoto is smart, capable, kind, generous, calm, collected, cute, valiant, sexy, and pure of heart. If you date her she even questions if she's becoming more girly to be true to herself, or just to please you, but thankfully she decides to embrace her inner woman and grow her hair out in a sequel manga hnnnnnnnnnnngggg.

Auron is the fucking best. What a silverfox. Samurai.

His no nonsense demeanor and straight to the point honesty has him spilling every secret in the game within the first few hours. It's just that Tidus refuses to believe any of it and has to be dragged along against his will so Auron can keep his promise to Tidus' drunk dad who turned into a giant monster so Tidus, who isn't real, can kill his dad and save the world.

Auron is super hot in an incredible masculine, mysterious yet honest way that few men even dare to dream to possess. You're probably thinking "man, Friday, you said your guy fetish was cowboys what is this samurai trash doing here where are the cowboys" well uh it turns out there aren't many good anime cowboys okay sorry

I don't really like prettyboys (unless they're also Leon) and they infest anime and games, so that's why most of my guy picks are older guys or weirdos.
