What about a thread for good news?
Re: What about a thread for good news?
I suppose I'd file that more under "schadenfreude" than "good news", but I guess the schadenfreude thread was on the old boards.
This is more of a "not nearly as bad as it could have been" than "good." 6000 idiots congregating together without masks is better than 19000 plus an overflow crowd, but it's still pretty bad. Hopefully it means Trump thinks twice about whether he's going to hold any more rallies -- because obviously the health and safety of people in general and his supporters in particular doesn't matter to him, but being personally humiliated matters to him more than anything.

lol:
That could be because her primary opponent appears to be named "AOC's Primary Opponent," and I really don't think you can go very far with a name like that

The recent flurry of talks with Vlad were possibly seeking permission then. I wonder what his new errand will be.

I wouldn't rule out anything at this point but I'd say Trump dropping out of the race is unlikely. Possible, but unlikely.
I do think that the Tulsa rally humiliated him and finally stripped away all the excuses and demonstrated to him that he really is in trouble and it's not just Fake Polls. I can see him taking his ball and going home if he has a couple more experiences like that.
But the Phoenix rally went better for him and I think he's probably back to his usual self-delusions.
Plus, I'm sure he's also aware that his being president is the only thing stalling the various civil and criminal investigations into him, his companies, and his family. I think he probably still thinks he can bullshit or settle his way out of those, like he has every other legal case against him, but there may be people who have his ear (I'm thinking specifically of Kushner, who views "dad might go to prison" as something more than an abstract hypothetical) and are taking all that stuff a little more seriously than he is.

Yeah, I forgot to write my comment: I'm not holding my breath, but just the thought that it's possible lifted my mood significantly.

The FCC has approved a new 3-digit number for the suicide prevention hotline:
Starting in 2022, US residents and visitors will be able to reach a crisis counselor by dialing 988.

That's why they actually tried to outlaw masks briefly in Hong Kong, which even the CCP mercifully realized was absurdly suicidal.
Personally, I prefer the Juggalo-facepaint evasion method.

A makeup tutorial for fooling facial recognition sensors showed up in my wife's YouTube recommendations.
I find myself using the phrase "cyberpunk dystopia" a lot these days.

I know "aria di mezzo carattere" is a descriptive term from opera, but given that a glance at her blog indicates she's a Final Fantasy fan, I'ma say there's a not-insignificant chance she's not just a transgender Satanist anarchist, she's a transgender Satanist anarchist who's named after the opera scene from Final Fantasy 6.

And that’s fine. I understand that, and I won’t begrudge the people who (for who knows what reason) just want to experience the story again. I don’t understand them, because Square-Enix tells terrible stories (and has been doing so since FF6, their last good story) with boring characters, unnatural dialogue, and sometimes horrendous acting.
Seems likely.

Also books: Allie Brosh is still truckin, writin and gettin published, and I can't think of anyone the denizens of 2020 need more.
