Game musings and news
Re: Game musings and news
Going for a remake instead of just a remaster. Perhaps like FF7. What I would like.
New area accable from the broken pillar in the nexus
Ability to alter WT as one wishes so all quests can be done.

Bought the bundle (chucked in $30... wanted to give $50, but then I remembered how bad exchange rates are right now :( ). Reminder that there's only a day or two left if you're on the fence about it.
Someone made a browser for the 1659 items: https://randombundlegame.com/
If anyone wants it and can't afford the $5, I'll buy you a copy for $10.

Hey guys. I think someone is remaking E.V.O.: Search for Eden but in 80s home computer isometric style and unambiguously good?

Hot damn, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne is getting an HD remaster on Switch. I'm obviously biased but I can't think of another game that needs it so little while also deserving it so much. Heck, just getting a modern release is excellent news. Here's to hoping the people in charge understand why it has aged so damn well.
Raidou Kuzonoha's in and Dante's out, though. Which, okay, sure. Not quite as meme-able, but I get it.

That explains why this popped up today.

Hopefully with some quality of life improvements that make it more newbie friendly. Why yes, I certainly want to permanently lose that skill because I have no idea how things work yet. Make it more like Digital Devil Saga where I can swap skills or buy them back at the Shadow Temple.

Oof, yeah. It's hard to put yourself in a functionally unrecoverable place without doing so on purpose, but having the ability to screw yourself out of something like Focus before you get your sea legs is rough chuckles for sure.

Somebody's been leaking a bunch of internal Nintendo materials, including source code and prototypes.
Here's some unused music for Castlevania 4:
and Star Fox (then Star Glider):

Wow, they have a full development repository for Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. The Pokemon ROM analysis historians are going to have a field day with this. There's already fanart of Arceus' placeholder sprite.

Analogue Pocket preorders open August 3; expected to ship in May 2021.

More from the Nintendo leak: a prototype called Super Donkey.
At least they got some use out of the music.

just to clear things up, the prototype does NOT have music. i just put the music in so the video wouldn't be entirely dead air.
Please remove the music - I have seen various commenters on other sites that have embedded your video now indirectly spreading false information that this music track was from 1993. This is inadvertently distorting history - if the original ROM was silent, present it silent.
Re: Game musings and news
Dah. Thanks for the correction. I guess just this once I should have read the comments on a YouTube video.

Neat.
I had to click through to YouTube to know which track was which for most of those (and seven or eight unskippable ads about how moustache-twirlingly evil John Hickenlooper is), but seeing that the original name for #10 was "zun zuriziri zun zun" after the opening chords, I knew exactly what that one was. That's kinda funny to me.

I haven't clicked the link yet but I assume this has to be Remnants.
EDIT: Yep.
