Star Wars
I thought we had a Star Wars thread. Was that just the old boards?
Anyway, some Star Wars art by Bruce Timm. He was applying for the comic adaptation of Episode 1.
On the one hand, he's glad he didn't get it and I am too because Bruce Timm deserves better than Episode 1.
On the other, it would certainly have been the best version of Phantom Menace that anyone ever did.

Whoa, awesome!
Apparently there's an interview in Comicology, but doesn't look like it's available outside of print:

"I was up for the [Phantom Menace] adaptation... Thank God I didn't get it -- it would have killed me!"
Re: Star Wars
Ars has an interesting piece on the possibility of remastered versions of the original, non-special edition trilogy.
tl;dr it would be technically and financially trivial, but legally Fox has the home video rights to Empire and Jedi locked up through 2020 and the original film in perpetuity and is none too pleased that Lucas didn't offer it a chance to make a counteroffer to the Disney purchase.
MEANWHILE, there's a new cut called Episode 3.1 that somebody made that is apparently an attempt to duplicate the Topher Grace cut and pare the prequel trilogy down to a single film that's a little under 3 hours. I'd offer a link but even if I could find one that hasn't been taken down, it'd probably be taken down by the time anyone read this.

Re: Star Wars
Chinese bootleg comic adaptation of Star Wars. Where Chewbacca is a chimp and Darth Vader appears to have sinister plans on the Kennedy Space Center.
Re: Star Wars
Haha, those are amazing. (Also the lady who scanned them in has almost the same name as my mom!)
Re: Star Wars
Jason Isaacs is going to be good.
Re: Star Wars
The first three Marvel Star Wars comics have been announced:
Star Wars, by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday
Princess Leia, by Mark Waid and Terry Dodson
Darth Vader, by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca
No sign of any continuation of any of the various books from Dark Horse, which is bad news for anyone who was into that stuff but good news for casual fans who want a new jumping-on point, and for anybody who's excited about John Cassaday attempting another monthly book.
Yeah, I said "attempting". I fucking love John Cassaday and am extremely excited about the two issues I expect him to complete before the delays start or they replace him.

Re: Star Wars
Who's the green mohawk guy standing next to Lando?
Re: Star Wars
It's Greedo. You may notice later in the pictures, a scene with him and Han in the diner.
Re: Star Wars
That's what I thought, but why would Greedo be with Lando?

I thought it was supposed to be Lobot at first, but then I realized Lobot was the dude with the headphone walkman.

Acquaintances of Solo, perhaps.
Re: Star Wars
It's weird seeing the Disney style/formula laid over murdering human beings.
I mean, I know Star Wars was quippy. But these characters are having arguments about trivial nonsense while doing murder and it's not supposed to be an intentional dichotomy.
That being said, it doesn't look bad. It's just gonna take me some time to adjust to cute sidekick characters murdering dudes and then being all jazzy about it.
