Nope, my wording there was specifically because I always think it's a good idea and never actually try it.

It made a lot more sense to me when my 10 year old cousin asked specifically for LED strips for Christmas to make his room more gamer.

I know they've snuck Final Fantasy ballads into figure skating events in decades prior, but I can't find much record of it at the moment.

They're scrambling to try and figure out the magic formula that made Space Jam work without realizing the inherent flaw in that plan.

Re: It's getting a little STEAMy in here.

I've seen two people say they emailed Gabe Newell asking if the base storage was upgradable, and he reportedly said it is via a 2230 NVMe drive. Hearsay and all that, but maybe? On the one hand, entirely sensible. On the other hand, terrible, TERRIBLE timing. ...which is how Valve hardware rolls, s...

Re: It's getting a little STEAMy in here.

My batting average with Valve hardware is pretty abysmal*, but a handheld that'll let me install a firewall on it instead of quietly inserting Google tracking into the OS layer after a year is worth giving a chance. * I actually LIKE the Steam Controller, but there aren't many uses for it that aren'...

Re: Little Pig, Little Pig! Let Me Admin! (Security Thread)

The fascinating thing to me is that it took 13 years for somebody to exploit it badly enough to warrant a patch. It's no secret to anybody who's ever touched an ink cartridge that the printer API is a rotting zombie that's been shambling around since the 90s; if I was inclined to ransom somebody's w...

Re: Final fucking fantasy 22 3/4

Nintendo sold $3-for-60 an incomplete set of badly emulated romdumps, and slapped an artificial scarcity for digital content scheme on top of it. And because they're Nintendo, that's now the standard for acceptable publisher behavior. $15 a pop for a set of rereleases with a half-assed, okay third-a...

Pretty sure that nonoptional corporate take is higher than the old default Humble Tip.

My shock is comprehensive.

"Social and economic death"? I'd cut off my tongue to be as socially and economically deceased as even a canceled Warren Ellis. Try crying me a river bigger than the one all his victims made.

Re: IT IS THE YEAR 2005

I started to lose interest in Beast Wars after Dinobot's death too but honestly I think that's because they changed the time slot and the show had become way too sequential to follow. Which is how I lose interest in pretty much everything now.

There's something to be said for eliminating the lowest scoring contestants at fixed periods rather than on the day a security guard escorts you to your desk.

I mean. If you're going to compare those two.

Pauline Bauer's age is unknown but statistically she's probably old enough to have grown up around leaded paint and radioactive wine.

...oh right, I forgot which "we" you're talking about. Feel free to throw a chalk eraser at me.
