Re: TMNT (created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird)

wait i thought you liked rise am i supposed to stop liking it now Rise is the good one! The latest movie is also good! I refer to your inclination toward suffering through like 400 episode of the middling CG Nick series and such before you'd deign to begin Rise. Anyways a friend of mine finished th...

Re: What a Tease

This one got me pretty excited for a Tie Fighter-style star wars flight sim. Then I saw gameplay and it was just exactly as arcadey as you'd expect.

Ah well, great little mini-movie at least:

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Actually now that I've thought about it a bit more, the only thing worth watching from Star Trek Discovery was Calypso, the Short Treks ep, which was the only time they had to do a complete beginning-middle-end episode.

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Life, Itself is the final episode of Star Trek Discovery, and lord almighty was it a proper Disco experience. A pointless action slog that culminates in no change to the status quo, and all antagonists killed. Things happen for an hour, you feel nothing, and it's over. A true sendoff for this serie...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Langrange Point had some fun bits, I liked the in-the-helmet cam, the hanger bay thing with Discovery itself was pretty fun, the dual-black-hole sequence was cool, Raynor got some good scenes, Breen getting sucked into the artifact constant was funny. The FX shot of Disco literally dropping out of ...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Discovery's sorta turned into Johnny Quest, and while that's not great, I'm a firm believer that one should always take the work on what it's aiming to achieve, and it's definitely interested in making this be a Star Warsy adventure in the vein of like, National Treasure. I'm never gonna get used to...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

It makes it all the worse for Discovery, because it shows that they always could light a scene in a halfway decent way, but chose not to, and continued not to until the got the ship upgrade in S3.

Re: TV Series On The Television

At the recommendation of a random dude on a Discord server I frequent, I started watching The Tourist , which is about a guy who wakes up in the Australian outback with no memory, with a few people trying to kill him. Pretty Bourne Identity-ey. I think overall I really enjoy the cast, but the writin...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

(Going to post my impressions for the latest few Disco eps if there are no objections) Face the Strange Pretty watchable time travel ep where they do a tour of the previous Star Trek Discovery season finales. This really banked on us having a lot of affection for killed-off characters that only ever...

Re: X-Men

X97 is on such a roll right now. Tolerance is Extinction pts 1 & 2 have been absolute bangers.

The pace of this thing continues to be absolutely wild, blasting through 20 comics an ep, every ep.

This latest ep of X97, “Bright Eyes”, was an absolute banger. This show’s been on a hot streak recently.

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Yeah, sucks about LD. I've always hoped it would get more into a storyline, and it felt it was going in that direction, but yeah with this being the last season they'll be too focused on wrapping things up to take any risks.

Ah well, good show.

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Watching the latest set of Discovery eps, for the fifth and final season. This show is so strange to me in how it is coherent and broadly entertaining but I feel absolutely positively nothing watching it. The good: ⋅  Loved the scenes with Saru and Michael together, walking through the woo...

Re: (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Animes

It's really been a joy. My nephew and I have been reading the manga together and are close to done, and the show really has been doing a great job capturing the fun of the series, while keeping it "realistic" in terms of the biology and the cooking. The ep after the dragon where they resur...

Re: (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Animes

Finished Somali and the Forest Spirit, it's a nice and pleasant show. Good vibes. I liked it! Probably due to it only getting one season, it ultimately doesn’t really amount to anything, and while it’s got a good source of drama, none of it coheres to where you might be emotionally affected by it. W...

Noticed twitter embeds weren't working again.

I looked into it, and it doesn't look like anyone's found an answer yet:
