And once it's been reported stolen, they don't bother reporting it un-stolen when the person who rented it returns it as arranged, so you can get pulled over and harassed even if you didn't keep the vehicle late.

My dad had moderate success with Anker robot vacuums, but to my knowledge none of the robot vacuums are particularly good at tight corner type areas, so it'd mostly be useful for crumbs that are out in the open. I don't know what your threat model is for crumbs.
