Re: Xanathar’s Guide to Cleavin’ a Goblin Clean in Twain (D&D)
My favorite D&D character was the Vaudeville Bard. Just a lore bard who only attacked in slapsticky ways, always sang jokey songs and rhymed for mockeries, etc. My favorite attack was a two-turn number to summon an unseen servant who would kneel behind an enemy, then a mage hand or some other fo...

Re: GOP Will Shit Itself
Even those signs aren't a threat. Protesters are absolutely correct to let the people protesting know that as long as they are abhorrent, they will be met with resistance. Until they actually threaten violence, or until there's a trend of left wing political violence, it is just some Fox News-ass sc...

Re: A Brief History of Brontoforumus
I've always figured that's why a lot of people would get mad at Geo. Since I knew him IRL, I always read his posts in his IRL voice and knew what he meant, but I also realized how they sometimes might sound dickish without that prior experience. We old LB crew have been kicking this around for a wh...

Re: Election 2018
The home state of NC did very ok. We fixed our Supreme Court (despite the absolute best and most nakedly corrupt efforts of the Republicans) and broke the veto-proof majority in the statehouse, so in two months and after what will almost certainly be a veritable Hurricane Florence of terrible new la...

Re: The Good, the Bad, and The Dragonquest (DQ11 review)
DQ9 might have surpassed 7 as my favorite in the series when it came out. I absolutely loved the job system, and the way jlevels were handled by accomplishing challenges with the quest, rather than a second exp gauge. I recently played the DQ7 remake though, and the story/progression of that game is...

They and Miller have been doing this for years. It basically just amounts to massive increases in production and distribution-- quality always seems to remain high.

There are also some amazing Jeter stories that came out around the same time, like sending women home with gift baskets of autographed Jeter memorabilia.

I had terrible luck at the beginning of the season. I'd keep going but I'm at a gear wall on a ring that I've spent all my time and resources trying for for over a week. I think it killed my interest.

Re: Soylent Guy is Crazy People
One thing I've read/heard about with regards to using a drink to replace food is your body won't register as satisfied. When you aren't actively doing the mouth work on your fats, your body doesn't think you're consuming many calories. Cheetos are a super-engineered abuser of this: because so much o...

The flaps in briefs are to allow them to stretch and remain comfortable while sitting and/or moving.
At work, I use the flap on boxers for the reasons Thad mentioned plus the untuck/retuck of both shirt and undershirt.

Another thing I've heard dates back about that far and is universal is ma, mom, mum, etc for the reason that it's a sound babies (can) make fairly early and it's pretty obvious what they usually want. The exception here is some areas in eastern Europe where they switch the parental designations (lik...
