Re: Let's all go to the movies~

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad is a stunningly beautiful movie that I can't really talk about without acknowledging that, y'know, it is an Arabian Nights adaptation made by a bunch of white people in 1958. There are definitely some brownface/exoticism problems. Though, that said, it was less racist than ...

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)

Hate to link to the New York Times, but they appear to be the first reputable, non-paywalled primary source confirming that the warrant referenced the Espionage Act . We don't know as yet how serious this is on a scale of Reality Winner to the Rosenbergs, and I don't think we will until/unless there...

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)

It looks like the warrant's been leaked to Breitbart and confirms that Trump's being investigated under the Espionage Act, but I'm inclined to wait a little while for corroboration from a source that's not Breitbart.

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)

People have been calling for him to be charged with treason since probably before he even announced his candidacy but this is the first time I've ever seriously considered the possibility that the 45th could actually end up being executed. I wouldn't bet on it, but yes, if he tried to sell nuclear ...

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)

Yeeeep, that'd do it. Just plain "classified materials" wasn't enough in itself to explain that kind of raid with that kind of deliberate speed and no public buildup, but "stolen nuclear secrets" sure is. Always exercise due skepticism of unconfirmed reports by unnamed sources, b...

And I've been reading Simone since...well, probably Women in Refrigerators, but I'd have seen her first professional comics work in Simpsons Comics too.

Also, this.

Rifftrax Live: Return of Swamp Thing is a week from today. I'm still not comfortable going to a movie theater, but for those of you who are interested.

That lightning bolt is terrible but on balance it's a much better costume than '40s Batman and Robin.

Intel tests show its Arc A750 GPU beating an RTX 3060, if only you could buy one Intel's strongest argument for its new GPUs might be its three-tier pricing strategy. The company categorizes games using one of three performance tiers: Tier 1 is newer games using modern APIs that have been specifica...

Re: Game musings and news

You can finally play Sony’s Spider-Man on PC—but it’s not all good news (yet) Such complaints might be moot when Spider-Man launches on Friday, August 12—and we sure hope so. At its best, this game does whatever a PC rig can, delivering ultra-wide ratios, super-charged graphical settings, higher fr...

There's also a bit in the Lone Gunmen pilot where Frohike confronts femme fatale Yves Harlow, and it goes like this (quoted from a transcript on the X-Files wiki ): YVES: I guess you don't know me. FROHIKE: Well, maybe I do (pause) Lee Harvey Oswald. (Yves looks at him.) FROHIKE: Your name, Yves Ade...

Re: TV Series On The Television

I've only watched the first episode of Sandman but I thought it was pretty damn good. Hard to judge Sandman by the early stuff, though. It's not really Sandman until it stops being a horror comic and starts feeling more like mythology. That's, what, volume 3? Which will be season 2, if there is one....
