Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
Nope! Never done any sort of choux. I've read the recipe a lot of times though. If it's a Food Failure it's no great loss though.

I'm going to try making cream puffs! Hoping to prep the choux pastry batter and the pastry cream today, and pipe, bake, and assemble tomorrow. I've never done these before so fingers crossed.
It's ambitious but I did talk myself down from making Paris-Brest instead.

Re: "Coronavirus" is the category, dangit. (COVID-19 thread)
I'm planning on wearing masks around strangers for a long time yet. Not sure what that means for work yet, terrified actually about what it means in late August when tens of thousands of people from across the world converge on my town. Hoping I'm allowed to keep my office door shut and window open ...

I hope you can figure something out, Thad. I had a migraine last for a month solid once, it was awful. (Got an MRI and a CAT and eventually went to ER. Nobody ever found a cause.) I'm starting to think everything's too complicated for doctors to find causes.

Snowing all day, end of April. Supposed to go all night too. The trees and bushes are covered and it's starting to stick to the grass. Forecasted to get 1 inch of snow. Supposed to be in the 60s on Friday.

The grocery had local organic edible flowers this week! I think these are wild pansies.

I use chard same as kale. I like it best lightly sauteed in olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper, as a side dish or chopped and on pasta. (Pull out the leaf-bones first.)

I helped buy a pickup truck for an ex-bf once that was only like $400, I think that was a fluke of a nice older man basically giving a drivable vehicle away to some young'uns. Never gotten a car for myself for under $8k. I get anxious about dealing with person to person sales so my last car just cam...

I am very upset at those caterers and bartenders and their lack of catering and tending. Also, I too wish to have that much kitchen counter space.
Also who bakes a cake in the middle of a party?? Always get that done before, geez.
I enjoyed the Undertale characters. Maybe FF4 characters?

That may be the most British thing I've ever seen you say.

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY
Still having a hard time, but past the point now of "can literally do nothing but cry." I've gotten back mobility in everything but my neck and parts of my shoulders, and I managed to get out of bed by myself the past two mornings. It's a considerable improvement. But my SI started going o...

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY
Been in physical therapy for a few weeks. Finally started getting a little better, then yesterday and today suddenly worse. (I assume related to some new exercises.) I went in for a pain in my little finger which turned out to be a symptom of my shoulders being wrecked and suddenly I'm completely re...

Had a dream that was a musical duet number. Woke up with part of the song still in my head, with no idea where my brain got it from. Please help.

I have never had good coleslaw. I recommend you find the former owners and beg the recipe. Make a documentary of the journey and sell the movie rights to Hunting for Coleslaw. I made brownies over the weekend that tasted good but never set up. The only tweak I made to the recipe was I only had bitte...

"Hypnagogic hallucinations." That's what my therapist says what I have is called. It's when I've finally just about fallen asleep but whoops now I'm awake and seeing people and things by my bed that aren't there and I'm screaming and screaming in terror and sometimes running out into the h...

See, this is why I don't deal with beets. They are delicious and nutritious and completely not worth the mess. Right up there with the time I foolishly bought a turmeric root.
Golden beets though, I buy those whenever I see them.

I want to listen to François but I cannot handle the horror
what if... I listen but don't look...
no it might still get scary
