We use explosives too! Legal only on Canada Day and our Not-Memorial-Day-Equivalent (the May Two-Four).

We don't usually start massive fires with them, but IIRC the best of those are saved for gender reveal parties anyway amirite?

TBH Canada day is kinda quiet this year for obvious reasons. There was some grumbling, but then the fourth mass graveyard to be confirmed was like, just two days ago. So.

Quite a few major cities outright cancelled celebrations (literally cancel cancel!), and while the Conservatives have been posturing a bit about "They cancelled CANADA DAY!!! CONSERVATIVES would NEVER cancel CANADA DAY!!!!!" (Absolutely the funniest iteration of this has been "STEPHEN HARPER WOULDN'T HAVE CANCELLED CANADA DAY!") the overall public outcry about this particular Canada Day having been turned in to a sort of impromptu day of remembrance has actually been encouragingly limited.

Many people will still be exploding stuff tho!
