I ended up putting a bulky case over my LG G5 (with its mere 5.3" screen) to make it stop feeling like I'm bending the thing out of shape every time I put it in my pocket. The fact that that is a thing that actually happens with modern phones doesn't help at all.
Mrs. Ideal and I have resorted to playing Pokemon Go on an iPad since our phones are old and catch fire when we try to use those instead. And even that elegant little piece of glass gets hot to the touch.
I kind of wish we'd make our devices just a quarter inch thicker. Not longer or wider or brighter, just thicker. Make more room for some cooling, ruggedize them a little, and maybe make life a little easier for the poor sods in Shenzhen putting the things together. But the way I see some drool over how a phone is 0.7mm thinner and 12 grams lighter is downright fetishistic.
