Imagine how bad it has to be for the Yogi Berra line to be unironically true.

man the way he said it and his face, too.
Like, you know you lose 1k if you give the wrong answer, right? Why would you buzz in with a "shrug, who knows? here's a random guess!" answer?
He's not doing the Ken Jennings method of just spam in for everything and then use the time to think because you know like 80-90% of everything so you might as well do that.

I read a comment by Bob Harris that that's pretty much how all the top-level players play -- if you're at that level, you're all pretty much evenly-matched and the deciding factor is going to be who times their buzzer press best.
(IIRC this was in the context of the then-upcoming Watson match. Harris was predicting that Watson would win simply because, all else being equal, a computer can time a buzzer press perfectly. He turned out to be correct -- Watson flailed on Final Jeopardy clues, I think because the sentence structure was too complex for it to parse, but it racked up so much money in the first two rounds that Final Jeopardy didn't matter.)

Not a tweet but I dunno where else this fits better.

I am definitely more confident in my ability to fight off a medium sized dog than my ability to fight off a goose.
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.

"Tony! Fuck off!"
Re: Hot Tweets Cool Treats
I wonder how much of the variation is people interpreting 'could' in different ways. A 1% chance is still 'could beat'.
