That was my basic thought too. I have never lived somewhere where deer weren't a nuisance, and attracting / feeding them would get your run out of town.

That said. Who the fuck needs a literal ton of anything? (except zebra cakes)

I imagine it's mostly for people with nature cams, and maybe for shitty hunting lodges. Sort of like that bird hunting range where Cheney ended up shooting another guy in the face, because he was incapable of shooting a caged bird with broken wings.

I really should put incapable in quotes, because the sweetest meat is clearly that of man.

It's literally illegal in upstate New York. Especially feeding them for the purpose of hunting them.

There's a guy near here who has an actual deer farm, he sells the meat(and presumably other parts as well).

EDIT: Damn, they've been removed already, but there were two additional entries there after Secret de Polichinelle: "Tom Cruise" and "John Travolta"

This is... well, apparently it's an anti-SJW tumblr made by 13-year-olds pretending to be Sonic characters, but it could easily be some kind of performance art piece.

The thing about Sonic fandom is that they are like any other fandom but cranked up to 11.

I once received an E-Mail consisting of a long string of insults including, but not limited to, "You hump Robotnik's ugly butt."

Floccinaucinihilipilification

I'm kind of sad that the url was taken, but I'm not at all disappointed by what was done with it.

I wonder if there's a schism in the Sonic fandom regarding Robotnik vs. Eggman.

I'm sure there is, and I'm sure it mostly breaks down along the usual "whichever one I heard first" lines.

They're both kind of terrible names, TBH.

Okay, so this is a Slate Star Codex link, BUT it is about as far from ponderous and overwrought philosophy as he can get. What happened is he found something dumb but innocuous on tumblr and went on to have a ton of fun writing a short story with it.

And I show You How Deep The Rabbit Hole Goes

It really is good.

It's a timeline. First it's all Robotnik, then Sonic and crew start calling him Eggman around the start of the 3D era. Finally in the current generation (I think it started in Adventure 2?) Robotnik finally gives in and just starts calling himself Eggman. Be it because of the need to fit in or complete lack of sense of self at that point I couldn't tell you.

It is, predictably, far more confusing in the comics, where the "original" Robotnik (who looks like the Saturday morning version) is killed off in issue #50, then another version of Robotnik from a parallel universe downloads his consciousness into a body that looks like the version from the games in issue #75 or so -- which is around where I stopped reading, so I'm going to have some trouble remembering any specifics from there on in.

But then, years later, due to the rights dispute with Ken Penders and the realization that they'd accidentally given him a creator claim on their main villain for the past hundred or so issues (because he co-created the parallel-universe version of Robotnik, see), they retconned all that shit out, pulled some kind of Crisis on Infinite Earths-style reboot, retold the origin story, and made it so there had only ever been one Eggman. There was something in there where they re-adapted the stories of the first few games; I'm not sure how they integrated the Freedom Fighters' backstory, Mobotropolis/Robotropolis, etc. into all that because again, I hadn't been reading the comics in 10-15 years by this point.
