The Christmas Cake rule just gets more bizarre as we fall further into postmodernity. If you're supposed to get a basic education, get an advanced education, work for at least two years in your field and then get married, put aside your career, and become a homemaker, then at 25 you're looking at one whole year of available time to find a permanent spouse and also you're spending more time in college than you're spending actually working, plus any type of postgraduate education is functionally impossible.

Point being, 25 isn't old and neither is 40. Age is old.
