Mmmm... not a ton this year so far, but there was a fake trailer for a War Thunder mode I'd actually be interested in:
And a whole feature-length movie trailer!
Diggin' for April Fool's Gold
Re: Diggin' for April Fool's Gold
Lots of shitty market research and jokes in poor taste out there, as usual. Only good thing I've seen was FFXIV's spinoff announcement.
Re: Diggin' for April Fool's Gold
Surprise Rick and Morty premier from Adult Swim.
Re: Diggin' for April Fool's Gold
Updated to the latest version of LineageOS last night.
Opened it this morning. Got a "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" warning. I briefly wondered where the fuck this was coming from, as it was a system notification, not E-Mail.
About the point it started asking me if I wanted to use my phone to mine a new cryptocurrency called LinCoin or somesuch bullshit, it clicked that this was a dumbass April Fool's joke, which was extra dumb because it hadn't actually been pushed to my system until April fucking 5th.
And the notification wouldn't go away. Eventually I had to look up how to get rid of it; it required opening up a terminal as root and typing a command to disable it.
On the one hand, it's a harmless prank.
On the other, my OS vendor used the root-level trust I have given it to fuck with me, and that is spectacularly unprofessional and ill-conceived.
Say what you will about the corporate investors who smothered CyanogenMod, but they never would have allowed this shit to happen.

Re: Diggin' for April Fool's Gold
I found April Fool's to be surprisingly lame this year. The only one that really made me laugh was the joke Shazam trailer I posted in the movie thread.
Maybe all the incredible Onion articles have set my standards for humour too high for the moment.
