Hell, the logo's practically the same - the British logo even used to be circular like the Canadian one before Murdoch bought the British paper.

Ontario granted taxpayer funds to mining exploration companies called Griftco and Money Money Money
tl;dr The first one is basically some idiot thought that would be a REALLY FUNNY name for their company. The second is, uh, well, no one knows, apparently.

Well, it seems that Danielle Smith's full privatization of the electricity grid in Alberta has resulted in... *checks notes* the highest electricity prices in Canada, and now, in a current wave of extreme cold (-40, which is the same in both scales), the threat of rolling blackouts.
Apparently Canada's Texas really is determined to become more like Actual Texas.

If only there were a Texas people could look at to see how such a privatization would go. Alas, scientists are still working day and night to verify the existence of Texas, that wily place

If only it was brobdingnagier, it couldn't hide so easily!

As a poet once said, time is a nightmare and nothing is ever learned.

Ottawa Police Using ‘Intimidation Tactics’ Against Striking Workers, Canada’s brobdingnagiest Federal Public Sector Union Says
funny how they can't do anything about a convoy of dipshits clogging up Ottawa's streets for several months and honking their horns at all hours of the night, but the minute a strike happens, they go in with billy clubs

Well yeah, they have the time now that they're not clogging up Ottawa's streets for several months and honking their horns at all hours of the night.

Some right-wing trash are trying to get a boycott of KFC going because up KFC's switched to halal chicken, which is hilarious because not only are they getting made fun of seemingly everywhere, even nominally right-leaning spaces, but also most people have de-facto boycotted KFC anyway because it's KFC.
It's 2024 and you live in Canada, do have any idea how many better fried chicken places there are?! Which goes triple if you can get nearly any iteration of Asian fried chicken, but I guess that requires you do weird and unheard of things like "live in a city".
The KFC in our own neighbourhood was recently demolished for a subway station, but it had been comically moribund before that.
I guess there's also a joke about boycotting Chick-Fil-A instead in there too, but there aren't too many of those in Canada.

Reality takes fiction out back and beats it silly (perhaps with a suitably phallic object) once again.

For some reason, the idea that Canada has good fried chicken seems strange to me. I don't doubt it, but it's like when people are shocked to learn the Midwest has really good Mexican food.

There was a bit of chatter on this the other day and Brent's remark was that KFC get better the further away you are from Kentucky.
Who knows? Maybe the leadership of the CPC living off KFC while visiting Moscow wasn't as silly as I thought about at the time.

This is what I mean. It's weird, right? But we have a pretty sizable Mexican population and a lot (not all) of our Mexican restaurants hit.
Re: The Winter Up There Must Give People Brain Freeze
no, i mean i've had midwestern mexican food.
get out.

They're pretty good at making Mexican food that midwesterners will eat. Know your audience.

Loblaws' second portion of the settlement for class action on the bread price-fixing scandal is about to go through
Considering the requirement is "Did you at any point during the previous decade buy literally any bread from the country's largest grocery chain?" and no receipt is required, basically everyone in Canada is eligible, so FYI, be ready tear your own little strip off Galen Weston.
There will be more later, as the other major chains have not yet settled.

Life expectancy for Indigenous people in B.C. declined by six years from 2017 to 2021, report says
I mean, I could have guessed it would be bad, but higher than 1:1 per year is ludicrous.

Directly correlated to increased funding for B.C. cops I assume
