Trump rally at Madison Square Gardens is being opened by this guy:
AOC/Walz Twitch stream closed by watching the GOP stream, Walz with the best possible reaction
The little shitweasel laugh Hinchcliffe laughs at his own jokes is, like, grounds for jury nullification all by itself. No court in the country would convict.

Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
Musks' PAC trying to keep pace with the rally, I guess:
EDIT:
I'm often behind on current music, so I don't have a full picture of the impact here, but Bad Bunny just endorsed Harris (looks like it was ready to go already, but the timing is incredible), and some Harris campaign staff were saying their endorsement was probably the brobdingnagiest one they hadn't landed yet.

Ahahahaha, some DNC staff were outside MSG the whole time doing this:
EDIT: Smell that sweat!

Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
Hinchcliffe's remarks were so racist the New York Times actually called them "racist" in a headline instead of "racially charged" or "which some have called racist" or any of the usual euphemisms.
Wonder how much of this is trawling for people who just canceled their Washington Post subscriptions and how much is that business last week where Michael Gold straight-up told people bawling him out for describing Trump's rambling about Arnold Palmer's dong as "golf stories" to e-mail the editor who made him do it and talk to them about it. At any rate the Times seems to have found a spine this week. Not that that makes up for all the other shit, but, y'know, much like the Cheneys I'll accept their help for the moment but it ain't gonna change how I feel about them.

Bouie with a goddamn Gundam Reference.
Downside is that this is another sign we old as dirt. Upside is who the fuck cares, this rocks.

Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
If anyone tries to pull the "we didn't know" incompetence card with Hinchcliffe - as almost the entire Trump campaign is trying to do right now in a mad scramble to distance themselves from him - know that he was reading off a teleprompter.
The campaign is sloppy as fuck, and incompetent in innumerable ways, but SOMEONE running the event vetted his shit.
Dude better start acquiring a taste for curb.

Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
I don't think any of you are in Vancouver, WA, but just in case any of you are, ballot boxes were firebombed there early this morning destroying hundreds of votes and you should contact your local Auditor's Office for a new ballot.
Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
Press coverage today is brutal for Trump; I'm seeing a growing narrative that he's cooked.
I don't need to tell anybody here this, but we can't take that for granted; the outcome is not a foregone conclusion and we can't get complacent.
But, y'know. There's not really any way to spin this as a positive for him.
I'm sure that in the next couple of days Fox News and the GOP will have their talking points together, but I don't think there's enough time for that to matter. If there's one thing January 6 has taught me it's that it's possible to do damage control for anything, no matter how vile, but they didn't convince people to handwave January 6 in a week; it took months of repetition, and they just don't have that kind of time this time.
As for the mainstream press, well, much like the Cheneys they're still not our friends but our interests align for the moment. Their first loyalty is to money, to whatever gets views or clicks, and Trump's nazi rally is going to dominate this news cycle, the last full week before the election.
So yeah, don't take anything for granted, but I've got a pretty good idea which campaign is happier right now.

Looking at the whole conceit behind Bezos being scared to endorse Harris because "What if Trump wins?", the knives out from the media now feels like /they/ feel like there's not much to worry about now.

They aren't worried about multibillion-dollar aerospace contracts.
Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
Sure, just Trump saying he'd throw them in jail.
Re: Election 2024: The Quest for Peace
The thing to remember is that none of these billionaires think they will lose out under a fascist regime. They assume wealth will insulate them from any problem, same as the owners of Krupp, Bayer, Thyssen, AEG, etc. did.
