I would say we become more extreme. Acts of togetherness, self-sacrifice, and kindness will be more pronounced and memorable. Just as are acts of... the other sort.

It feels wrong to give South Park any credit these days, but it was from the period when the show's social awareness still overshadowed its self awareness.

So I have a found family daughter, the mechanics of which are that I fell for her mum then she ultimately adopted me by officially switching to my surname on account of her original genetic donor being a big ol' waste of good proteins.
