The Many Poisonous Animals of the Amazon
Re: The Many Poisonous Animals of the Amazon
It's being taken over by AWS's CEO and nominal founder so the company definitely knows where its bread is currently buttered.
Basically just handing control of most of the internet from a guy who kind of fell into the position to a guy who did not.

Bezos probably just realized he's filthy rich enough now that he really doesn't have to give two fucks about Amazon's day-to-day operation anymore and found a guy he trusts to continue to squeeze blood from a stone.

Don't assume this will be an improvement. It can get worse.
Will get worse:

Re: The Many Poisonous Animals of the Amazon
while Darla was definitely the most obviously fake, there were a slew of other brand ambassador/bot/who knows that all got hit at the same time, and Amazon is trying to claim it was all fake to defame them. Because, you know, it's not literally a thing that they've done in the past, and there wasn't a leaked communication with the security team about twitter activity that was like "yeah there's a huge PR issue but it's not a security thing".

Yeah. Here's the original leaked communication and response, specifically.

Amazon intends to buy MGM.
Say, uh, all you folks in the government who keep talking about how we need to change our thinking on mergers and antitrust? Now would be a good time.

LMAO tweet's gone already (the Amazon one, not the dril one, obv).
I'm not sure if deleting a tweet that's already been retweeted by dril is the very peak of pointless, but it's got to be right up there.
