a comment on the Globe and Mail article wrote:Commenter "a word" raises an interesting point about the difficulty Ford faces in getting the help he obviously needs. Indeed, how does a fellow whose entire life has been planned and directed by his parents and older siblings (no job outside the family firm, sent into politics at his father's behest) find the strength to go out on his own when it's clear his closest family members don't have his best interests at heart?

Wait a second -- I just realized the Ford family is the family from Arrested Development!

Controlling father who pitted his children against each other and put his empire ahead of nurturing his kids? Check.

Controlling mother who glosses over her childrens' flaws in public and acts as the family boss behind the scenes in the father's absence? Check.

Older brother who runs the family business and probably feels he's "the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together"? Check.

Older sister with seriously questionable taste in partners and recreational activities? Check.

Other older brother who's a bit of an arrogant jerk, treats employees like dirt, reminds everyone how rich he is and constantly tries to impress others with his "illusions" (of business competence)? Check.

Younger, more skittish brother who has a bit of an issue handling his "juice" ("There's unlimited juice? This party is gonna be off the hook!") in public? Check.

All that's missing is a "Diane 2" living next door and a long-delayed fourth season that's okay but generally not seen as matching the dizzying comedic heights of the first three.

Whoa. Eerie.

Forgot to mention this the other day: Ford declares Feb 6th as Bob Marley day.

This was especially funny at work, because Seabass is not only a huge Ford Nation asshole, but he's also a Bob Marley fan, so he was over the moon.

The man started a youtube channel.

“Please judge me on my record, not my personal life,” the mayor says in a teaser for the show posted Thursday.

Which is funny, because his record is worse than Attila.

Oh, and he also took Bob Marley day itself as a "sick" day.

I already knew that all the qualified campaign workers had fled Ford for better pastures and that his campaign manager has moved on, but today I read that all the voter information that Ford himself had carefully collected over a ten-year period is... missing.

It seems his old campaign manager says two DVDs were provided to Ford with this information in 2010. NOw that he's working someone else's campaign, he can't provide any services for Ford. Ford says the information was never provided.

To me this behind-the-scenes stuff is the real kiss of death for Ford's re-election hopes. I still won't count him out yet, but that makes me feel quite a bit better. It also raises my hopes for even more high comedy this fall.

I think it's funny that not only did Ford go to that big city Mayor's conference today to try to get money for subways and affordable housing (because he needs to show he did SOMETHING positive during the last year of his tenure) but he left in a huff because a reporter asked about his drug use.

I just like that he managed to lose his OWN critical records. That's perfect Ford right there.

So this afternoon Ford derailed a press conference about something innocuous to taunt Police Chief Blair "Arrest me!"

That may not have been the wisest of strategies, Robbie.

Rob Ford parade float at Mardi Gras:

The “Canadian Club” float ribbed Ford for his admitted drug use, and sported mockup Toronto Star newspaper headlines blaring “Mayor Ford: ‘So I smoked a little crack“’ and “I was in a drunken stupor.”

Oh and in case you haven't seen it yet, Jimmy Kimmel is using one of his guest invitations to bring Rob Ford to the Oscars, and then he's going to interview him tomorrow.

That's right. Robbie's going to the Oscars. With Jimmy Kimmel.

So hey, anybody down south or generally not in the Toronto area and watched Jimmy Kimmel last night:

Do you care that Rob Ford supposedly saved taxpayers' money? Or that he was cleaning up the mess he inherited, or however he put it?

Canadian Government sends dead veteran's family a one-cent compensation cheque. I know it's probably just some stupid system error no one checked over, but it sure maintains this government's position as the worst government in Canadian history for veterans.

This is especially weird, because for a lot of things (most notably, taxes) the government will not generally mail payments (or ask for payment) for sums under $2 (because that would exceed processing costs).

This was the first post in this topic not about Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Gee golly gosh, where's all the Canadian porn, eh?

Yes, it's SFW.

EDIT: Holy shit the comments
"If they want to have 20% content of Canadians getting screwed, they
should just run a few minutes of Parliamentary debates between programs."

My screenplay for the pilot of "Greetings from Snatchkatchewan" just got the big green light!
