Infowars Files for Bankruptcy Amid Sandy Hook Lawsuits
This doesn't mean Jones is out of money. He isn't, and neither is his LLC; this is a stalling tactic. This puts all the debt collection and the lawsuits against him on hold until bankruptcy proceedings are finished.
His other stalling tactics haven't worked out so well for him.

Turkish Airlines Flight from Israel to Turkey aborted after a passenger AirDrop'd a photo album of plane crashes to everyone on the plane.
Well, that's a new one.
Sounds like it was some asshole kids who thought they were being funny though, so that at least is same old same old.

No updates in sometime then a bunch all in a row. When it rains it pours?

Insane that they asked the guy to swap radio freqs. That is 100% asking to fuck over your one working communication channel. The tower should accommodate the zero-experience flyer, not the other way around. Like imagine if the guy tried to switch, fatfingered it, and then couldn't remember the original freq or the new one due to, you know, the insane stress of the situation.
Other than that, great work. Switching the guy to a phone call was smart.
Fun fact: This scenario has never happened on a commercial jet, because of co-pilots and flight crew. They've actually run sims where all pilots on board AND the flight crew are incap'd, but the zero experience regular person they bring into the sim to try to land always crashes and kills everyone.

Yeah, commercial jets are just way too complicated.
It's like.. imagine the difference between a guy who doesn't know how to drive having to take the wheel of an 18-wheeler instead of a car - you wanna try manual with a dual three or four stage clutch and a transmission with like 25 speeds? And that's JUST SHIFTING.
And then multiply the increase in difficulty between the two by an extra order of magnitude.
I think once you get past the point where you get complete and immediate (or at least mostly complete and nearly-immediate) visual and physical feedback on control inputs, an untrained person is just fucked.

On the other hand, the actual process of landing most modern commercial jets should be a matter of air traffic control telling the untrained layperson "here's the numbers we need you to punch into this computer so the plane will land itself."

Well presumably if that were possible, you could issue remote commands even!

You cannot, for reasons that should be obvious if you stop to think about it for nine or so seconds.

PILOTS HATE THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK
They had a couple things that they did manually, I'm not sure how many of them were necessary but it seems like it would be entirely within the capabilities of someone being told "do these exact things" by someone who knows what they're doing.

What's the name again for that trope where a subject matter expert can't suspend their disbelief?
